Tunisian Pinwheel Square - part 1

12:11
This crochet project employs the Tunisian Simple Stitch. However, a Tunisian crochet hook is not required, as the square is small enough that a regular crochet hook can be used. It is perfect for joining to other identical squares to make a larger project, such as a blanket, shawl, or bag. A decorative edging can be added, which would yield a lovely dishcloth or hot pad. This is a good project for yarn scraps, as each of the triangles in each round can be made in a different color. Radiating Moss Stitch Square New Version

22:16
This new two-color version is larger (12” x 12”) and uses a new technique for joining each round. • Versatile pattern! Use the moss stitch (aka linen stitch or granite stitch) to make this colorful square for afghans, blankets, throws, bags, and shawls. Use cotton yarn and fewer rounds to make a dishcloth or coaster. • Invisible corner joins! This square is worked from the center out and each round is joined invisibly in the corner with a new technique, the Helix Corner Join. • No swirling! This square is worked by turning the piece over after each round, which counteracts the usual “swirl,” and requires very little blocking, if any. The written pattern will be available soon in my Ravelry store and my Etsy shop. Crochet tutorials, tips, tricks, and procedures. Single Color Moss Stitch Square

08:58
As of 2/17/2019, this video is now obsolete. I have made an updated video that is a slight improvement on the corner join. See the updated video here: https://youtu.be/P9g_qu7_lBI This video demonstrates how to make a moss-stitch square using a single color. This crochet square is worked from the center out, is joined every round, and is turned over to work each round. The advantage to this is that the corners are all 90 degrees and the sides are very straight, without the need for blocking. Also, the corner join is much less visible than joining in the middle of the side. For my two-color moss stitch square written pattern that employs the "Helix Corner Join," please see my Ravelry store: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/radiating-moss-stitch-square-2 Instagram: @cheryldeecrochet Facebook: CherylDeeCrochet Etsy: CherylDeeCrochet Pinterest: Cheryl Dee Crochet

Basic Moss Stitch Square UPDATED

13:28
This video demonstrates how to crochet the Basic Moss Stitch Square in the 12-inch size. This square is worked with a single color of yarn, from the center out, joined in the corners, and turned (flipped) after every round. This combination of methods yields a perfectly square piece of crochet work that needs no blocking, is seamless in appearance, and is completely reversible. In this video, I share several options for making a solid, half-double-crochet square. Do you like your crochet squares to be dense or lacy? Are you frustrated that your crochet squares sometimes don't lay flat? Could there be too many stitches, or not enough? Let me know in the comments below whether this video has helped you.
