Ship launching is the process of transferring a vessel to the water. It is a naval tradition in many cultures, dating back thousands of years. It has been observed as a public celebration and a solemn blessing. Ship launching imposes stresses on the ship not met during normal operation, in addition to the size and weight of the vessel, and it represents a considerable engineering challenge as well as a public spectacle. The process also involves many traditions intended to invite good luck, such as christening by breaking a sacrificial bottle of champagne over the bow as the ship is named aloud and launched. There are three principal methods of conveying a new ship from building site to water, only two of which are called "launching." The oldest, most familiar, and most widely used is the end-on launch, in which the vessel slides down an inclined slipway, usually stern first. With the side launch, the ship enters the water broadside. The third method is float-out, used for ships that are built in basins or dry docks and then floated by admitting water into the dock. In all cases, heavy chains are attached to the ship and the drag effect is used to slow the vessel once afloat, until tugboats can move the hull to a jetty for fitting out. It consists of generating stations that produce electrical power, high voltage transmission lines that carry powerfrom distant sources to demand centers, and distribution lines that connect individual customers Power stations may be located near a fuel source, at a dam site, or to take advantage of renewable energy sources, and are often located away from heavily populated areas. They are usually quite large to take advantage of economies of scale. The electric power which is generated is stepped up to a higher voltage at which it connects to the electric power transmission network. The bulk power transmission network will move the power long distances, sometimes across international boundaries, until it reaches its wholesale customer (usually the company that owns the local electric power distribution network). On arrival at a substation, the power will be stepped down from a transmission level voltage to a distribution level voltage. As it exits the substation, it enters the distribution wiring. Finally, upon arrival at the service location, the power is stepped down again from the distribution voltage to the required service voltage(s).

What is a transformer? A transformer is an electrical device that transfers electrical energy from one circuit to another by electromagnetic induction (also called transformer action). It is most often used to step up or step down voltage levels. The following are the basic components of a transformer. 1. Laminated core 2. Windings 3. Insulating Materials 4. Transformer oil 5. Tap changer 6. Conservator 7. Breather 8. Cooling tubes 9. Buchholz Relay 10. Explosion vent Core : Core is used to support the windings in the transformer. It also provides a low reluctance path to the flow of magnetic flux. It is made up of laminated soft iron core in order to reduce eddy current loss and Hysteresis loss. The composition of a transformer core depends on such factors as voltage, current, and frequency. Windings There are two windings wound over the transformer core which are insulated from each other. Windings consists of several turns of copper coils bundled together an each bundles are connected in series to form a winding. High voltage windings are made up of copper coil. The number of turns in it is the multiple of the number of turns in the low voltage windings. It has copper coils thinner than that of the low voltage windings. b) Low voltage windings Low voltage winding has lesser number of turns than that of the high voltage windings. It is made up of the thick copper conductors. This is because the current in the low voltage windings is higher than that of high voltage windings. Transformer can be supplied from either LV or HV windings based on the requirement. Tap changer : The output voltage may vary according to the input voltage and the load. During loaded conditions the voltage on the output terminal fall and during off load conditions the output voltage increases. In order to balance the voltage variations tap changers are used. Tap changers can be either on load tap changer or off load tap changer. In on load tap changers the tapping can be changed without isolating the transformer from the supply and in off load tap changers it is done after disconnecting the transformer. Automatic tap changers are also available. Transformer oil : Transformer oil performs two important functions of insulation as well as cooling for the core and coil assembly. Core and windings of the transformer must be completely immersed in the oil. Normally hydrocarbon mineral oils are used as transformer oil. Oil contamination is a serious problem because it robs its dielectric properties and renders it useless as an insulating medium Bushings : There are many methods to classify the types of bushings. These classifications are based on practical reasons, which will become apparent in the following discussion in three broad areas. Bushings can be classified: 1. According to insulating media on ends 2. According to construction 3. According to insulation inside bushing According to construction bushings are of two types - solid type or bulk type and the capacitance-graded or condenser type. According to the insulation inside bushing they are classified as - Air-Insulated Bushings, Oil-Insulated or Oil-Filled Bushings, Oil-Impregnated Paper-Insulated Bushings, Resin-Bonded or -Impregnated Paper-Insulated Bushings, Cast-Insulation Bushings, Gas-Insulated Bushings. Jet engines move the airplane forward with a great force that is produced by a tremendous thrust and causes the plane to fly very fast. All jet engines, which are also called gas turbines, work on the same principle. The engine sucks air in at the front with a fan. A compressor raises the pressure of the air. The compressor is made with many blades attached to a shaft. The blades spin at high speed and compress or squeeze the air. The compressed air is then sprayed with fuel and an electric spark lights the mixture. The burning gases expand and blast out through the nozzle, at the back of the engine. As the jets of gas shoot backward, the engine and the aircraft are thrust forward. As the hot air is going to the nozzle, it passes through another group of blades called the turbine. Historically, most rockets have needed to use all of their available fuel in order to get their payload into space. SpaceX rockets were built from the beginning with reusability in mind—they have enough built-in fuel margin to deliver a Dragon to the space station and return the first-stage to Earth. That extra fuel is needed to reignite the engines a few times to slow the rocket down and ultimately land the first stage after it has sent the spacecraft on its way. In addition to extra fuel the rocket has small, foldable heat-resistant wings called grid fins needed for steering the first-stage as it plummets from the edge of space through Earth’s atmosphere, cold-gas thrusters on the top of the first-stage that are used to flip the rocket around as it begins its journey back to Earth, and strong but lightweight carbon fiber landing legs are deployed as it approaches touchdown. All of these systems, while built and programmed by humans, are totally automated once the rocket is launched—and are reacting and adjusting their behavior based on incoming, real-time data.

A gas turbine, also called a combustion turbine, is a type of continuous combustion, internal combustion engine. There are three main components: 1. An upstream rotating gas compressor; 2. A downstream turbine on the same shaft; 3. A combustion chamber or area, called a combustor, in between 1. and 2. above. A fourth component is often used to increase efficiency (turboprop, turbofan), to convert power into mechanical or electric form (turboshaft, electric generator), or to achieve greater power to mass/volume ratio (afterburner). The basic operation of the gas turbine is a Brayton cycle with air as the working fluid. Fresh atmospheric air flows through the compressor that brings it to higher pressure. Energy is then added by spraying fuel into the air and igniting it so the combustion generates a high-temperature flow. This high-temperature high-pressure gas enters a turbine, where it expands down to the exhaust pressure, producing a shaft work output in the process. The turbine shaft work is used to drive the compressor; the energy that is not used for compressing the working fluid comes out in the exhaust gases that can be used to do external work, such as directly producing thrust in a turbojet engine, or rotating a second, independent turbine (known as a power turbine) which can be connected to a fan, propeller, or electrical generator. The purpose of the gas turbine determines the design so that the most desirable split of energy between the thrust and the shaft work is achieved. The fourth step of the Brayton cycle (cooling of the working fluid) is omitted, as gas turbines are open systems that do not use the same air again.

It takes up about 1/600th the volume of natural gas in the gaseous state. It is odorless, colorless, non-toxic and non-corrosive. Hazards include flammability after vaporization into a gaseous state, freezing and asphyxia. The liquefaction process involves removal of certain components, such as dust, acid gases, helium, water, and heavy hydrocarbons, which could cause difficulty downstream. The natural gas is then condensed into a liquid at close to atmospheric pressure by cooling it to approximately −162 °C (−260 °F); maximum transport pressure is set at around 25 kPa (4 psi).

Zenit St Petersburg will move in after the tournament. 3.Fisht Olympic Stadium, Sochi Capacity: 47,659 : Fisht Stadium was built for the 2014 Winter Olympics and Paralympics, so is clearly capable of hosting big events. The removal of its roof to comply with FIFA regulations also cost a lot of money. 4.Volgograd Arena, Volgograd Capacity: 45,568 5.Kazan Arena, Kazan Capacity: 45,379: Designed by Populous, the same company that designed Wembley and the Emirates, the Kazan Arena is home to Rubin Kazan. It is a modern stadium but will be one of the oldest stadiums at the tournament because of new constructions. Has previously held football and athletics events, as well as the 2015 World Aquatic Championships where the football pitch was replaced by swimming pools. 6. Otkritie Stadium, Moscow Capacity: 45,360: A statue of Spartacus outside the stadium will prove popular, and the home of Spartak Moscow will likely be a fan favourite in 2018. It was built for club football, so the stands are close to the pitch. 7. Central Stadium, Yekaterinburg Capacity: 35,696: The main aspect of note at Ekaterinburg are the temporary stands that sit behind each goal. Protruding outside of the stadium, FIFA introduced them to make sure the stadium is above the 35,000 required minimum. They will be taken down after the tournament and the stadium will be home to FC Ural, a mid-table team in the Russian premier League.

Fire has a huge financial impact on the industry; Each wind turbine costs more than £2 million and generates an estimated income of more than £500,000 per year. Any loss or downtime of these valuable assets makes the industry less viable and productive. Fires are a problem for the industry, impacting on energy production, economic output and emitting toxic fumes, this could cast a shadow over the industry’s green credentials. Wind turbines catch fire because highly flammable materials such as hydraulic oil and plastics are in close proximity to machinery and electrical wires. Number 8: SVM 1000 Plasser & Theurer SVM 1000 tracklaying train, can lay up to 2km of track in 24 hours which is semi-automated and is being used world wide to lay train lines which much lesser efforts and faster turnaround time. Number 7: TBM A tunnel boring machine (TBM), also known as a "mole", is a machine used to excavate tunnels with a circular cross section through a variety of soil and rock strata.
