EA cries “We Don’t Like That Gamers HATE Us!” - Angry Rant

The very worst modern gaming company is sad that everyone really doesnt like them. Should we learn to love EA or are they a lost cause? Lets dig into it for this angry gaming rant! It's the company that lays off staff indiscriminately, it allowed Anthem to go out when it wasn't ready, and it's responsible for the term "surprise mechanics." And that's just this year. This is not just a perception among gamers, either. For years I worked on the MCV Awards, an event that highlights sales and marketing achievements in the UK. EA would rarely ever win, despite always finishing the year as the UK's No.1 publisher. EA's industry peers simply didn't vote for it, and when its name was read out as a nominee, it wasn't uncommon to hear a few boos from the audience, as if EA was some pantomime villain. "25 years at EA and I still struggle with the external perception that we're just a bunch of bad guys," says Matt Bilbey, EVP of strategic growth at EA. "We love making and playing games. Unfortunately, when we make mistakes on games, the world knows about it because it's of a size and scale."

The game is led by former Castlevania series producer Koji Igarashi, and is considered a spiritual successor to the series. Bloodstained will be released for Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in June 2019. A retro-style companion game, Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon, was developed by Inti Creates and released in May 2018. Igarashi conceived the game after his departure from Konami in 2014, prompted by numerous fan requests for him to make another Metroidvania-type game. He used the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter to demonstrate to potential funding agencies of the demand for the game in 2015, which successfully raised more than US$5.5 million from backers, making it the most funded video game crowdfunding campaign on the platform until it was surpassed by Shenmue III shortly after.

The team opted for a unique and more diverse game world than Oblivion's Imperial Province of Cyrodiil, which game director and executive producer Todd Howard considered less interesting by comparison. The game was released to critical acclaim, with reviewers particularly mentioning the character development and setting, and is considered to be one of the greatest video games of all time. Three downloadable content (DLC) add-ons were released—Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn—which were repackaged into The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Legendary Edition, which was released in June 2013. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Special Edition, a remastered version of the game, was released for Windows, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in October 2016, which includes all three DLC expansions and a graphical upgrade, along with additional features such as modding capabilities on consoles. Versions for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation VR are planned for release in 2017. This full video review of Elder Scrolls V Skyrim on Nintendo Switch features long gameplay clips of docked mode with some handheld mode also show. I explain how to find the Zelda Breath of the Wild gear without needing Amiibo. Story, graphics, and port quality are all covered in this review and then it is given a rating. Take down enemies with the Master Sword, protect yourself with the Hylian shield, or look heroic in the Champion’s Tunic. Tap other compatible amiibo to gain additional loot. Compatible amiibo include those from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild series, 30th Anniversary - The Legend of Zelda series, Super Smash Bros. series, and The Legend of Zelda series. Motion Controls: Use all-new motion controls for combat and lockpicking – battle with melee weapons, aim your bow and arrow, and more. Released in 2006, it is the twelfth title in the mainline Final Fantasy series. The game introduced several innovations to the series: an open world split into zones, a seamless battle system, a controllable camera, a customizable "gambit" system which lets the player control the artificial intelligence (AI) of characters in battle; and a "license" system that determines which abilities and equipment are used by characters. Final Fantasy XII also includes elements from previous games in the series, such as Chocobos and Moogles. The game takes place in the fictional land of Ivalice, where the empires of Archadia and Rozarria are waging an endless war. Dalmasca, a small kingdom, is caught between the warring nations. When Dalmasca is annexed by Archadia, its princess, Ashe, creates a resistance movement. During the struggle, she meets Vaan, a young adventurer who dreams of becoming a sky pirate in command of an airship. They are quickly joined by a band of allies; together, they rally against the tyranny of the Archadian Empire. Final Fantasy XII received critical acclaim, earning numerous "Game of the Year" awards in various categories from noted video game publications. Selling more than two million copies in Japan, it became the fourth best-selling PlayStation 2 game of 2006 worldwide. By November 2009, over 6 million copies of the game were sold worldwide. A sequel, Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings, was released for the Nintendo DS in 2007. A high-definition remaster of the International Zodiac Job System version, subtitled The Zodiac Age, was released worldwide for the PlayStation 4 in July 2017.

Sonic Mania is a side-scrolling platform game developed by Headcannon and PagodaWest Games and published by Sega for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows. An installment in the Sonic the Hedgehog series, the game was announced in commemoration of its 25th anniversary, and was released worldwide in August 2017. The game is largely inspired by the original Sonic the Hedgehog games released for the Sega Genesis, and features 2D graphics and remastered versions of stages from previous games alongside new stages. The player controls Sonic the Hedgehog and his companions Tails and Knuckles as they venture to prevent their nemesis Doctor Eggman and his henchmen, the Hard-Boiled Heavies, from manipulating the timestream. Development of Sonic Mania was led by programmer Christian "Taxman" Whitehead, who had previously worked on enhanced ports of early Sonic games. Art, level design, audio, and additional programming were provided by the independent studios Headcannon and PagodaWest Games, chosen for their work in the Sonic fangame community. Upon release, Sonic Mania was met with generally favorable reception, with critics highlighting its faithfulness to the series' Genesis-era titles. Many viewed the game as a return to form for the series, which had suffered from mostly negative critical reception following a number of poorly-received Sonic titles that released after the 1990s.

The game puts focuses on 'play, create and share', and allows players to create user-generated content. In Dreams, players control an "imp", which is used to interact with the game's world (like a mouse cursor), create new items and characters, and manipulate objects by grabbing and pulling them. Players move the imp by using the DualShock 4 or PlayStation Move controllers. The imp is customizable, and players can change the emotion of the imp by drawing on the controller's touchpad. The imp has the ability to possess characters featured in a dream, allowing players to take direct control of these characters. Dreams's levels are separated by different segments known as "dreams", and these dreams are connected by different gateways such as doors. Players encounter different puzzles in the game, which must be solved by using the abilities of the imp and the possessed characters, as well as the objects players retrieved in a dream. Items collected by players can be used to alter and modify the state of the game's world. Players can create their own levels in the game by using custom and pre-built objects. Players can then share their completed dreams online. Cooperative multiplayer is also featured in the game, allowing players to create and manipulate their custom dreams together. #DreamsPs4 #Dreams

Collection of Mana will mark the first release of Seiken Densetsu 3 in the United States. It will be known as Trials of Mana in the collection. Following the release of this collection in Japan last year, critic Jeremy Parish wrote about the challenge of recapturing the magic of the original Secret of Mana. “The original Secret of Mana has a rowdy, chaotic element to it,” writes Parish, “but the game works — even now, decades later — because the superficial sketchiness of the tech is underpinned by thoughtful interlocking systems and clever interface innovations.” The Nintendo Direct also announced a full 3D remake of Trials of Mana. It will be released in early 2020.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is an action-adventure first-person shooter video game developed by MachineGames and published by Bethesda Softworks. It is scheduled to release on 27 October 2017 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, and in 2018 for Nintendo Switch. The game is the eighth main entry in the Wolfenstein series and the sequel to 2014's Wolfenstein: The New Order, set in alternate history 1961 America following the Nazi victory of the Second World War. The story follows war veteran William "B.J." Blazkowicz and his efforts to fight against the Nazi regime in the United States. The game is played from a first-person perspective and most of its levels are navigated on foot. The story is arranged in chapters, which players complete in order to progress. A morality choice in the prologue alters the game's entire storyline; some characters and small plot points are replaced throughout the timelines. The game features a variety of weapons, most of which can be dual wielded. A cover system is also present. Continuing from The New Order, the development team aimed to characterize Blazkowicz for players to adopt his personality.

This video goes into detail about general story, combat controls, pro controller use, motion controls, graphics comparisons with the PS4 and Xbox One X vs Nintendo Switch, and how great arcade mode is along with slightly gameplay clips of online play and single player story mode. Everything is shown both in full dock mode gameplay and handheld gameplay/ Doom is a first-person shooter video game developed by id Software and published by Bethesda Softworks. A reboot of the Doom franchise, it is the fourth title in the main series and the first major installment since Doom 3 in 2004. It was released worldwide on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on May 13, 2016 and is powered by id Tech 6. A port for Nintendo Switch, co-developed with Panic Button, is scheduled for release on November 10, 2017. Players take the role of an unnamed marine as he battles demonic forces from Hell that have been unleashed by the Union Aerospace Corporation on a future-set colonized planet Mars. The gameplay returns to a faster pace with more open-ended levels, closer to the first two games than the slower survival horror approach of Doom 3. It also features environment traversal, character upgrades, and the ability to perform executions known as "glory kills". The game also supports an online multiplayer component and a level editor known as "SnapMap", co-developed with Certain Affinity[b] and Escalation Studios respectively. Doom was announced as Doom 4 in 2008, but underwent an extensive development cycle with different builds and designs before being restarted in 2011, and revealed as simply Doom in 2014. It was tested by customers who pre-ordered the Bethesda game Wolfenstein: The New Order, and also by the general public. Mick Gordon composed the music for the game, with additional music contributed by Ben F. Carney, Chris Hite, and Chad Mossholder. Doom was well received by critics and players. The single-player campaign, graphics, and gameplay received considerable acclaim and praise, with reviewers crediting the game for recapturing the spirit of the classic Doom games and first-person shooters of the 1990s, whereas the multiplayer mode drew the most significant criticism. It was the second best-selling video game in North America and the UK a few weeks after its release, and sold over 500,000 copies for PCs within the same period.

Final Fantasy IX Review! Worth the Price? (PS4 Version)

Final Fantasy IX (ファイナルファンタジーIX Fainaru Fantajī Nain) is a role-playing video game developed and published by Square for the PlayStation video game console. Originally released in 2000, it is the ninth title in the Final Fantasy series and last to debut on the original PlayStation console. In 2010, it was re-released as a PSone Classics title on the PlayStation Network. The game introduced new features to the series like the "Active Time Event", "Mognet", and a unique equipment and skill system. Final Fantasy IX's plot at first centers on a war between nations in a medieval fantasy world called Gaia. Players follow bandit Zidane Tribal after the thief troupe to which he belongs is hired to kidnap Garnet Til Alexandros XVII, the princess of Alexandria. He goes on to team up with Garnet and a growing cast of characters on a quest to take down Queen Brahne of Alexandria, the one responsible for starting the war. The plot shifts, however, when it is revealed that Brahne was only working alongside a much more menacing threat, Kuja, who shares a mysterious history with Zidane spanning two worlds. Final Fantasy IX was developed alongside Final Fantasy VIII, but took a different approach by returning to the more traditional style of the early Final Fantasy games. Consequently, Final Fantasy IX was influenced significantly by the original Final Fantasy game, and features allusions to other titles in the series. It was released to critical acclaim and holds the highest Metacritic score of all Final Fantasy installments. Final Fantasy IX was commercially successful, selling over five million units worldwide by March 2003. Ports for iOS and Android were released in February 2016, while a port for Microsoft Windows was released in April 2016.

Yakuza Kiwami Review! Great Weird Adventure? (PS4)

Yakuza (Japanese: 龍が如く Hepburn: Ryū ga Gotoku, "Like a Dragon") is an action-adventure game developed and published by Sega for the PlayStation 2. Yakuza was released in Japan in 2005, and outside Japan the following year. The story follows a yakuza named Kazuma Kiryu, who, after spending ten years in jail for a crime he did not commit, learns that 10 billion yen has been stolen from the Tojo clan, which the criminal underworld is searching for. He finds an orphaned girl Haruka who is being targeted by the clan, as she is believed to have the key for their lost money, and he resolves to protect her. The game takes place in Kamurocho, which is a realistic recreation of Tokyo's Kabukicho. Yakuza is an open world action-adventure game with role-playing elements: the player gains experience from combat, which can be used to level up Kazuma's stats and increase his fighting capabilities. In order to finance the game's expensive production, Sega contracted a tie-in campaign with famous Japanese companies. A remake of this game, Yakuza Kiwami, was released for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 in Japan in 2016, and is planned for release in the West for PlayStation 4 in 2017. I cover the gameplay, yakuza kiwami karaoke, yakuza kiwami majima system, and the arcade games with side quests. Critical reception to Yakuza has been positive. Although there was some criticism of its clunky mechanics, the game has been well received for its presentation and story. Yakuza was a commercial success, selling over 1,000,000 units, and spawned an entire franchise of games.

It looks like the Genesis Mini will be closer to Nintendo's offerings with the NES Classic and Super NES Classic than to Sony's misstep with the PlayStation Classic. So far, the Sega Genesis Mini game list looks extremely promising, and the final 10 games for Genesis Mini could all be terrible and it would still be a great system, in my opinion. #SegaGenesisMini #GenesisMini #MegaDriveMini

The REAL Reason Final Fantasy 8 Isn't On PS4 or Switch! - Rant Video

11:22
The entire Final Fantasy series has been getting redone with remasters, remakes, and rereleases except for one big exception. Why exactly is Final Fantasy VIII not coming to the PS4 and Switch? "EDM Detection Mode" Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) Last night, Nintendo announced that just about all of the main Final Fantasy games from the PlayStation and PS2 eras were coming to their Switch console—except one. Missing from the line-up, despite the presence of Final Fantasy VII, IX, X, X--2, and XII, was 1999's Final Fantasy VIII, a hilarious slight to a video game that even its rights holders know probably kind of deserves it. The internet, much like someone learning the ropes of FFVIII’s time-wasting battle system or absorbing its immensely dopey plot twists, was taken aback by the sheer gall on display. Exiled from the Final Fantasy family, newer generations may never understand the joys of having to use the “Draw” command on every new monster for hours on end or the raw charisma of characters like “energetic boy in jean shorts,” “energetic girl with improbable hair,” or “cowboy who always hits on women.” Instead, it’s sad to say, the venerable role-playing series will have to live on through the games its creators are more proud of, like the upcoming remaster, Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon: Everybuddy!

The game is the second to be developed by Tokyo RPG Factory, and considered a spiritual successor to their first title, I Am Setsuna. The game was released in Japan in October 2017, and is scheduled for release in January 2018 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Microsoft Windows in North America, Europe and Australia. The game follows a young male adventurer named Kanata, who along with his friends Lumina and Locke, is looking for a way to eliminate the "White Fog", which is slowly destroying their hometown of Eru. n 2014, Square Enix formed a new development studio named "Tokyo Dream Factory". Square Enix appointed Atsushi Hashimoto to lead the company due to his views aligning with their goal for the company, namely creating JRPGs similar to those developed in the 1990's during the fourth generation of video game consoles such as Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy but for more modern video game consoles. The company's first game, I Am Setsuna, was released in 2016, and was successful enough to warrant developing a second title.[4] The follow up, Lost Sphear, was officially revealed on May 30, 2017, being announced for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Microsoft Windows platforms, dropping Setsuna's PlayStation Vita platform. A demo of the game was made playable at PAX West, and was made downloadable in Japan, in September 2017. The game was released on October 12, 2017 in Japan, and is scheduled for release on January 23, 2018, in the West.[

"EDM Detection Mode" Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) #NintendoSwitch #SwitchLite #SwitchPro Nintendo is unveiling an updated version of its Switch console today, with promises of improved battery life. The new model will include approximately two extra hours of battery life, bringing the estimates of usage to between 4.5 and 9 hours. Nintendo’s current Switch has an estimated battery life of between 2.5 and 6.5 hours. Nintendo’s Switch product page doesn’t reveal exactly how the company has achieved this improved battery life, but it’s likely thanks to a new system-on-chip inside and updated memory. A recent FCC listing revealed that Nintendo was planning to update the Switch with a new CPU and storage. This new model, dubbed HAC-001(-01), should start appearing in stores soon. You’ll need to check for serial numbers starting with XKW to make sure you get the model with the best battery life. Nintendo’s updated Switch comes just a week after the company unveiled the Switch Lite, a smaller and cheaper model designed for handheld play. The Switch Lite has a smaller 5.5-inch touch display, and battery life between 3 and 7 hours. Nintendo is planning to make the Switch Lite available for $199 on September 20th.

It is scheduled for release for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on April 16, 2019. Based on the book of the same name, and set in the same universe as the 2013 film, the game follows groups of survivors of a zombie apocalypse in various cities, including New York, Tokyo, Jerusalem and Moscow. The game was announced in December 2017 as a four player cooperative at The Game Awards. The game is based on the 2013 film World War Z, with gameplay featuring over the shoulder third person shooter cooperative combat against large numbers of zombies, defensive traps and emplacements. It basically plays like Left 4 Dead 3 except with deep upgrade systems, customization weapons, and of course separate classes that are all super cool!

"EDM Detection Mode" Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 Final Fantasy IX[a] is a 2000 role-playing video game developed and published by Square for the PlayStation video game console. It is the ninth game in the main Final Fantasy series and the last to debut on the original PlayStation. The plot centers on the consequences of a war between nations in a medieval fantasy world called Gaia. Players follow bandit Zidane Tribal, who kidnaps Alexandrian princess Garnet Til Alexandros XVII as part of a gambit by the neighboring nation of Lindblum. He joins Garnet and a growing cast of characters on a quest to take down her mother, Queen Brahne of Alexandria, who started the war. The plot shifts when the player learns that Brahne is a pawn of a more menacing threat, Kuja, who shares a mysterious history with Zidane spanning two worlds. The game was developed alongside Final Fantasy VIII. Envisioned by developers as a retrospective for the series, it departed from the futuristic settings of Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII by returning to the medieval style of the first six installments. Consequently, it was influenced heavily by the original Final Fantasy, and features allusions to the rest of the games. Despite this approach, the game did introduce new features to the series, such as "Active Time Event" cutscenes, "Mognet", and skill systems. Final Fantasy IX was released to critical acclaim. It is often cited by critics and fans as one of the best Final Fantasy games, and holds the highest Metacritic score of the series. Final Fantasy IX was commercially successful, selling more than 5.5 million copies worldwide by February 2016. It was re-released in 2010 as a PSOne Classic on the PlayStation Store; this version was compatible with PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable, and PlayStation Vita support arrived in 2012. Ports featuring minor gameplay and graphical enhancements were released for various other platforms in the late 2010s. #FinalFantasy9 #NintendoSwitch

The Evil Within 2 is an upcoming third-person survival horror video game developed by Tango Gameworks and published by Bethesda Softworks for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It is the sequel to the 2014 video game The Evil Within. Mobius is a corporation with unknown motives. With the aim of bringing the world "peace and order", Mobius created the STEM device, which connects human minds to an alternate dimension. In the aftermath of the first game's event, Detective Sebastian Castellanos was dismissed from the police department, and his story was not trusted by anyone. Similar to its predecessor, the game is a survival horror game. Played from a third-person perspective, the player assumes control of detective Sebastian Castellanos, who must descend into the world of Union to rescue his daughter, Lily. There are three difficulty modes, namely Casual, which producer Shinji Mikami recommends, Survival, and Nightmare. In The Evil Within 2, maps are larger and there are multiple ways for players to advance in a level. The player is also given an item known as "The Communicator", which helps to highlight the objectives, resources, and enemies featured in the game's world. It will also reveal Resonance points, which provides hints regarding what had happened in the world of Union. Players can explore the map area freely to complete side objectives and scout for resources, which are scarce. Players can engage in direct confrontation with enemies using weapons like guns, or use stealth to prevent themselves from being noticed or sneak behind enemies to kill them silently.

"EDM Detection Mode" Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) today announced a bill that would ban loot boxes and pay-to-win microtransactions in “games played by minors,” a broad label that the senator says will include both games designed for kids under 18 and games “whose developers knowingly allow minor players to engage in microtransactions.” Hawley will introduce the bill, “The Protecting Children from Abusive Games Act,” to the U.S. Senate soon. In press materials announcing the bill, Hawley’s team brought up the Activision game Candy Crush as an egregious example of pay-to-win microtransactions thanks to its $150 “Luscious Bundle” that comes with a whole bunch of goodies. This bill will also likely apply to a host of online games that feature loot boxes and other ways in which players can spend money for real benefits. “When a game is designed for kids, game developers shouldn’t be allowed to monetize addiction,” Hawley said in a press release. “And when kids play games designed for adults, they should be walled off from compulsive microtransactions. Game developers who knowingly exploit children should face legal consequences.” #GamingNews #GamingLootboxes #LootBoxBan
