10 Biggest Architecture Fails In The World

Top 10 shocking architectural failures in history! Subscribe to our channel: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] Other Videos You Might Like Roads You Wouldn't Want To Drive On https://youtu.be/ym4uVS-5tSA?list=PLXK3uPjJ22FUgkmE10ySoALx9YjknvXHI The Largest Things In The World https://youtu.be/V1lfjKqGgf8?list=PLXK3uPjJ22FUgkmE10ySoALx9YjknvXHI Description: Architecture is one of the most astounding and complex professions in the world today. It has only been well over a century since skyscrapers first made their appearance in the late nineteenth century, complete with photos of the construction that alarmingly include men eating their lunch thousands of feet into the air with nothing to hang on to should they fall. Architecture requires some of the most brilliant minds in the world today, as complex designs have to have a way to stay standing. If you look at buildings from the earlier times, they looked like square boxes with some windows. But the innovation of design has challenged architects to be more creative and productive in their designs. From buildings to bridges, people want more aesthetics than functionality these days. However, functionality is crucial because it can make the difference between life and death. If a student makes an error on their test, the worst thing that will happen is that they get a bad grade. If an artist messes up on a piece, the worst thing that will happen is that there was time lost and wasted. But if an architect makes an error, then there is more devastation and more at risk. If an architect writes up plans that are flawed, and those plans are published around the world, then there is potential for worldwide catastrophe. When it all comes down to it, architectural failures can be devastating and lives can be lost at epic proportions. In this video are ten of the biggest architecture failures that have ever occurred around the world. Not only did these fails result in monetary loss, but also resulted in catastrophic damage to the people involved that involved PTSD and death. From the collapse of bridges to the downfall of some of the mightiest buildings to have ever existed, these failures are a grim reminder that we are still not perfect and have a lot of work to do in terms of how much we can create on our own. Sometimes loss of life isn’t the only major issue when it comes to architecture failures. Sometimes it’s something as simple as color of the building. Take the Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Vdara Hotel and Spa. The buildings are both very shiny and reflect the sun, thus unintentionally creating a massive heat ray that moves as the Earth moves around the sun. People have actually reported their hair getting singe and plastic melting from the rays coming off of the buildings. Perhaps that’s why we don’t see many silver buildings anymore? The entries in this video are both tragic and humorous. As the art of architecture continues to evolve and change, we will likely see more failures come as experimentation in the building world continues to progress. We are learning with each building how to create something bigger and better, along with making sure that the building is safe and not put together with paperclips, glue, and maybe a few thumbtacks. Young Man Catches Woman Falling from 11th floor with Bare Hands

02:01
A young man caught a woman falling from a building's 11th floor with bare hands on Wednesday in Enshi City in central China's Hubei Province. The surveillance video footage showed Feng Ning running in front of the building at around 21:45. He kept changing his position while looking up to the building; seconds later, the woman fell right into his arms. Due to the huge impact, Feng was immediately knocked down on the ground and was carried to one side of the street by the locals. Feng said he was walking out of a restaurant when he heard someone crying for help from the nearby residential building. He then saw a woman hanging from the 11th floor window. "I ran to the building, but she had already fallen before I could reach the entrance. So I got ready to catch her instead. I don't know what happened next," said Feng. "There was a loud noise, as if it was an earthquake. Then I heard the young man screaming in pain," said a local witness. "The young man cried and cried while sweating badly. He looked as if he was in a great pain," said another witness. Feng was sent to the hospital, but the woman did not survive unfortunately. "Feng suffered injuries on his knee joints, and had a tibial plateau fracture. His anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments and the medial ligament have been dislocated," said Li Yanbing, doctor of spinal surgery department, Enshi Central Hospital. Feng joined the army as a college student in 2013. He retired in September after full service. He said his first reaction was saving the woman's life without considering whether he would be injured. "I don't regret. It's a shame that I couldn't save her," said Feng. GIANT CREATURE ON BUILDING - Real or Fake?

06:29
Hey Guys Bill Here… lately I’ve been receiving a lot of what I like to call Giant Creepy Crawler videos, but the one that gets submitted the most is this one..It’s called Alien Spider Creature Caught on video In Russia Climbing On Building - and this thing has a lot of people scratching their heads This video was submitted by Erikas Burneika, Jason Miller, Keko Tino, ADRIAN LESTER Roxas, [ Semi ], Dequan Brown, Nicholas Kling, Keira Steele, Odesseas Gaming, Ashkhen hayrapet, julius vare, LocoOrb Gaming, Roblox Account, KayThe Kangaroo, Amanda Robin, Toseef Ahmad, Kamrul Hassan, Jackson Moss, Caveguy22, Noah McCoy, Just your average Atheist, Arbelle Marie Manalac ____________________________________ LINKS ANSWER VIDEO https://youtu.be/0rzZNtjO2Lg MIKEY'S WEBPAGE http://www.youtube.com/longlivemikey ___________________________________ The video shows a spidery creature thing crawling over this building that we are told is in Russia. Now the list of people who submitted this is too long to mention here so I will make a list in the comment section below. But what each and every one of these viewers want to know is — Is this video real? Or is it big four legged fake….lets get out the bug spray and find out. I did some looking around on my own and it turns out the very first version appeared on a Youtube Channel called DimanOperator and from there it went to another Youtube channel called 247newsvideos. Since then dozens of other copies of the video have been posted around the internet. Unfortunately, none of my usual hoax busting websites have looked at this particular video -- so there isn’t a lot to go on folks - but hey, like I always say, when the going get s tough here at billschannel… I call the A team! In this case, Mikey Borup from youtube channel Long Live Mikey. Mikey is a leading expert in computer special effects. MIKEY: This one was hard for me to figure out. Because they did everything right… it’s an overcast day etc… BILL: OK what Mikey is talking about is a technical thing… When we see a moving image, it’s actually a collection of still images that go by so fast, it tricks our mind into thinking there is real motion there… Now, the cameras I use take about 30 pictures in one second to make things work right… but what if my camera makes a mistake and only takes 28 pictures in one second. If we’re just looking at a normal video, it’s not really a problem, but if we’re making a video like this one - it can be a really big problem! Let me show you how. Let’s say we’re making this fake video and the creature is is recorded this many frames in one second. We want to place it over our recording of the building, but the camera recording the building makes a mistake and only shoots this many frames in 1 second… We don’t have enough frames! See the problem? Alright so this happens a lot more than you think so video editing software does a neat little trick to fix the problem. What the software does to fix this problem is just make copies of this last frame to make up the difference. But it’s the same picture over and over so nothing moves. It’s like a freeze frame. It’s a pretty cool trick unless you’re trying to make a fake! Because when Mikey looks at it, he can now see the video of the creature and the video of the building are two different videos… and I think you know what that means. It's a fake. Ok so there you have it. I hope that answers your question people… I want to thank Mikey for taking the time to look at this… and if you guys ever want to learn more about doing computer effects head over to his youtube channel.

Close up of non-smoking sign on table in non-smoking section, pull focus to empty tables behind STORYLINE A law restricting smoking came into force in Serbia on Thursday, sending shock waves through the tobacco-loving Balkan nation where every third citizen is a smoker. While the law does not impose a complete smoking ban in cafes and restaurants, cigarettes have been expelled from offices and public areas such as theatres, cinemas and concert halls. The change is likely to be tough to digest for many in Serbia, where cigarettes have been part of daily routine for centuries. In the capital Belgrade on Thursday, many smokers huddled outside in small groups or sat on park benches to light up. One woman who works at the National Museum, complained that the law was "too harsh" and said separate smoking areas should have be allowed in public buildings, as is the case in bars and restaurants. Bar owner Neven Boskovic was busy putting up signs showing the smoking and non-smoking sections of his establishment. He complained that the restrictions were already driving customers away. "Already today, 50 percent of our customers are not here. The non-smoking section is empty and the smoking part of the cafe is full," he said. Fines envisaged by the bill reach five-thousand dinars (65 US dollars; 47 euros) for individuals who fail to comply, but are much higher for businesses. Shark Tank Breaks In Mall

02:58
Sharks swimming in the mall or subway? Huge shark tank breaks leaving deadly sharks swimming in a mall lobby! We're gonna need a bigger boat! There is a reason this image went viral and its not because of people's fear of escalators. And yes, there is a real phobia of escalators its called Escalaphobia, google it, I can't make this kind of stuff up! This image hit all of the social media outlets. Like Facebook, Tumblr and Twitter According to one of the stories accompanying the picture, a giant shark tank at the Scientific Center in Kuwait collapsed, causing panic and chaos among staff and visitors. Another claimed the collapse occurred flooding the lobby of Kuwaiti shopping mall. Upon being confronted with such an event occurring at the mall you have to ask yourself... #1 Is this within the realm of possibility? #2 What kind of sharks are they? And #3 How do I get to the food court and specifically Hot Dog On A Stick? #1 In my worst nightmares and apparently in China, that is a resounding yes. At the Shanghai Orient Shopping Center in China a tank holding 33 tons of water and three sharks shattered . The disaster was caught on video as acrylic glass almost 6 inches thick burst sending the water and deadly shards of glass onto visitors injuring 15 people. The 3 sharks inside were lemon sharks, and are safe to humans. The poor creatures however did not survive. #2 In our Kuwaiti shopping center picture the sharks appear to be Great Whites! There is absolutely no reason for any private citizen or business to own a great white unless you are an Evil Genius bent on taking over the world and have equipped them with lasers on their heads. Either way it doesn't matter, there are sharks at the bottom of the fricken escalators and I still need to get to Hot dog on a stick!!! Which leads me to #3 They're called corn dogs where I come from, they are delicious, but who's the perv that designed the uniforms and their method of making lemonade? So is the image real or a hoax? Well for starters the Kuwait Scientific Center is real, and has a shark tank, but no, it never collapsed. The image is actually a hoax combining a number of different images. The escalator is actually located at the basement of the Toronto Royal Bank Plaza when it was shut down due to flooding in 2012. The water is really only inches deep which is apparent by how high it is compared to the two men standing off in the corner of the original picture. This isn't the first time the great white on the left has been used in viral images, here it is again this time swimming in the flooded streets of Puerto Rico after a Hurricane. The crazy thing is the original image it has been lifted from is viral on its own merit, and get this... this is real!!! However, It is such a scary and imposing sight that photographer Thomas P. Peschak has had to write an entire article describing to the exact detail, how he took the picture to in order to prove it's authenticity. If you want more hoax factor videos and sharks with laser beams on their heads subscribe now.

7 Awesome Ship Side Launch Videos

01:15
Ship launching is the process of transferring a vessel to the water. It is a naval tradition in many cultures, dating back thousands of years. It has been observed as a public celebration and a solemn blessing. In addition to the size and weight of the vessel, ship launching imposes stresses on the ship not met during normal operation, and represents a considerable engineering challenge, in addition to a public spectacle. One of the most exciting ship launching methods used for the newly built ships is the "side launching" or "sideways launching". People love to watch the amazing “splash” created by the side launches. STRANGE LIGHTNING STRIKES - Caught on Camera and explained

04:33
Strange lightning footage compilation with all sorts of bizarre lightning manifestations including bead lightning, ribbon lightning, streamers, anvil crawlers and more. For licensing contact [email protected] Lightning strikes from storm clouds down to the ground. It also strikes up into storms and also out into thin air. Sometimes isolated sparks shoot up out of the ground. Lightning Channels sometimes sail in strong wind and take bizarre, unlikely paths through the sky. This video is about the weird behavior of strange lightning. UPWARD-MOVING LIGHTNING Most of us have seen epic lightning bolts branching from the cloud down to the ground, But have you ever seen lightning bolts branching up? Upward-moving lightning or ground-to-cloud lightning often has a strange smooth and fluid channel. This type of lightning was extremely rare prior to the industrial revolution and is said to have only occurred from mountain peaks. Tall, man-made structures help trigger this discharge and increasing skyscrapers and radio antennas are making this brilliant phenomenon more common. INTRACLOUD LIGHTNING Most lightning discharges occur only in the clouds never striking the earth. This is called intracloud lightning. But sometimes it leaps out into the naked air, and so this phenomenon is called cloud-to-air lightning During a lightning storm It's a good idea not to be the tallest thing standing around. But that doesn't mean you're safe if you're the shortest. Lightning seems to have a physics defying mind of it's own and often takes unlikely, erratic paths before striking a random target. UPWARD STREAMERS Milliseconds before a typical lightning strike, a stepped leader advances from the cloud to the ground. Before reaching the ground a charged ionic channel called an upward streamer reaches up to meet the leader. When they connect a massive electrostatic discharge flashes. During some strikes, multiple upward streamers spark up and only one makes a connection. In rare photographs you can see these lonely upward streamers failing to make a connection. BEAD LIGHTNING After a strike, the main lightning channel begins to cool and sometimes decays into glowing fragments slow enough for the human eye to detect. This string of dots is called bead lightning or chain lightning. RIBBON LIGHTNING: Sometimes lightning photographs have parallel successive flashes or strokes off-set from each other. This is called Ribbon Lightning and occurs when strong winds actually blow the flashing channel through the camera frame. Here's some video of lightning actually sailing in strong wind. LIGHTNING STROKES or FLICKERS We've all seen lightning flicker, but we generally don't see all the flashes or strokes because they happen too fast for the eye to see. Some lightning strikes are said to flash up to 30 times. When you slow video down you can detect more of the flashes, but this video was shot at 30 frames per second and lightning can hide several stokes inside one of those frames. 480 frames per second will give a more accurate stoke count, but again it is possible to have several strokes inside one of those frames. The best way to get an accurate stroke count is with one still frame. Open your shutter on a dark night and pan your camera back and forth. If lightning strikes during a pan, you'll have recorded and separated the strokes. Notice the primary flash is the only one with branches. BALL LIGHTNING Perhaps the strangest manifestation of lightning is Ball Lightning which is said to be a floating luminous ball that can pass through walls. Despite the trillions of selfies shot every second around the globe, There is no solid photographic proof of ball lightning. In fact it's entire existence is based solely off of reported public sightings. I scoured the internet and was only able to find one plausible photograph of ball lightning. The 10 Most Dangerous Jobs In The World

04:29
Jobs with the highest death and casualty rates around the world Subscribe to our channel: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg --------------------------------------------------------------- Description: Let’s face it; most of us would prefer to not work a day or night job. The ideal life would be to just lounge, relax, and enjoy what life has to offer. Unfortunately, bills have to be paid, and the only way to get the money to do that is to get a job. Depending on where you are in life, you might be working in fast food, retail, childcare, or you might have even reached the corporate level of the workforce. If you enjoy your job, consider yourself lucky among millions of people who hate their jobs, don’t have a job at all, or work a dangerous job that makes death loom over them everyday. Don’t believe us? Here are ten of the most dangerous jobs in the world. Underground welders have a very dangerous job since they have to hang out underwater all day and every day with welding machines. Welding above water is dangerous enough as it is, but underwater includes a plethora of more risks. There is the risk of decompression sickness, shock, explosions, and wear and tear on dental fillings. Annually, out of 200 workers, about 30 lose their lives on the job. You can bet that the benefits for the grieving families should be decent. Crab fisherman have a risky job being 26 times more dangerous than the average job, with 128 workers dying in 2007. Causes of death includes being thrown overboard, drowning, and hyperthermia. If you have ever seen any of the reality shows with fishing, boating, and more, then these statistics aren’t a huge shock. Speaking of deaths by forces of nature, logging has become quite a dangerous job with the risk of equipment failure (getting injured from chainsaws) and getting crushed by falling trees. If you get antsy around heights, then you might want to avoid the steel working career. These are the guys who build multi story skyscrapers and spend their day hundreds of feet in the air. Today, steel workers now have harnesses to help avoid a deathly fall, but they are still quite at risk at their job with the risk of falling construction equipment and the risk of their harness failing. If you have ever looked at a bull rider and thought, “I’d like to try that,” then think again. While there are cash rewards for staying on a crazy bull for eight seconds, the risks outweigh the benefits with significant injuries about every 15 rides. Risks include getting crushed to death, stabbed by a bull’s horn, and other physical injuries. Prostitutes also have a mighty dangerous job with the risk of getting arrested, involved in drug use, exposure to STD’s and other diseases, plus the risk of getting beaten or killed. Then we have microchip manufacturers, who are exposed to the deadly chemicals used to make the chips, which studies have shown to have severe long term effects. Next time you feel like complaining about your job, perhaps take a moment to consider that it could be much worse than sitting behind a cash register or getting yelled at by an angry customer. --------------------------------------------------------------- Our Social Media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheRichest.org Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheRichest_Com Instagram: http://instagram.com/therichest --------------------------------------------------------------- Featuring: Snake Milkers Underwater Welder Prostitutes Oil Riggers Steel Workers Crab Fisherman Bush Pilots Microchip Manufacturers Loggers Bull Riders --------------------------------------------------------------- Music Track: Lethal Projectile - Dan Skinner / Adam Skinner / Dave James --------------------------------------------------------------- For more videos and articles visit: http://www.therichest.com/

Qassam rockets falling on Sderot, Israeli tanks on border

Various of piece of shrapnel embedded in wall of building 16. Man walking near truck 17. Pan to damaged building 18. Holes in street, tilt up to Israeli security vehicle arriving at scene STORYLINE: Hamas militants fired two rockets into the Israeli town of Sderot near the border with the Gaza strip early on Sunday, an AP Television Cameraman reported. The Israeli military said that one damaged a school and the other landed in a public square, but that no one was hurt. In Sderot vehicles in the street were damaged, and pieces of shrapnel were seen lodged in the walls of buildings. The rockets were seen being fired from the town of Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip, opposite Sderot. The rockets were fired despite an Israeli military airstrike on Beit Hanoun early on Sunday in which Hamas said three of its militants were killed. Palestinian hospital officials also reported that at least 11 people including one child were injured in the airstrike. Sderot has been a frequent target for Palestinian rocket attacks. Israeli armoured vehicles were seen at Nizmit on the Israel-Gaza border on Sunday morning. Israeli troops entered Beit Hanoun early on Sunday, residents and Palestinian security officials said, as attack helicopters fired machine guns from above. The Israeli military said its forces operating in the area also fired at a group of militants and a Hamas office in the Jebaliya refugee camp in the northern Gaza strip. Israel started its offensive in Gaza on June 28, three days after Hamas-backed militants tunnelled under the border and attacked an Israeli army post, killing two soldiers and capturing a third. Israel has declared two goals for its Gaza offensive, winning release of the captured soldier, Corporal Gilad Shalit, and ending Palestinian rocket fire at Israeli communities around Gaza. Ten days ago Israeli forces carried out a two-day sweep of northern Gaza, entering Beit Hanoun and another town, Beit Lahiya, looking for militants and leaving behind a swathe of destruction. How to make a building earthquake-proof | The Economist

02:51
More than a million people have died in earthquakes in the last two decades. Seismic rumbling between the Earth’s tectonic plates puts some of the world’s most densely-populated countries at particular risk. These plate boundaries are most apparent around the Pacific rim – frequent earthquakes have led to the region’s nickname, the “Ring of Fire”. Click here to subscribe to The Economist on YouTube: http://econ.trib.al/rWl91R7 Yet for the most part, earthquakes themselves do not pose the greatest risk: Collapsing buildings do. While buildings are generally designed to withstand vertical loads – the weight of their contents and inhabitants – they have not traditionally been built to withstand the side-to-side swaying that a tremor can bring. It’s possible to design buildings so they’re more resilient to earthquakes – keeping them light and flexible so that they can absorb and distribute the energy of their movement. Start with the roof, which should be the structure’s lightest part. In the 1995 Hanshin earthquake, in Japan, and the recent quakes in Nepal, much of the damage was among top-heavy, tiled roofs. In 2008, a Magnitude-8 quake in the Chinese province of Sichuan took more than 80,000 lives and engineers found tile-clad buildings largely to blame. Using materials that can bend without breaking helps make buildings more shock absorbent. This building has steel embedded in its frame. It’s being put through its paces on what is known as a shake table, at the Hyogo Earthquake Engineering Research Center, in Japan. Tests like these show how a building’s frame is also important. Light walls and partitions and thin concrete floors can help. So can what are called shear walls, a system of panels and braces that effectively channel a side-to-side force downward into the building’s foundations. The giant concrete columns at the centre of modern skyscrapers do exactly that. There’s also a bit of simple physics known to the architects of ancient Japanese pagodas. These were built with a giant central pole called a shinbashira, which acted as a tremendously heavy pendulum. Seismic shuffling of the pagoda’s main structure transfers into the gentle swaying of the shinbashira. Since it was built in the early 7th century, the enormous Horyu-Ji Temple in Japan has survived dozens of big earthquakes. Modern builders have taken note: Taiwan’s Taipei 101 and the Citicorp Center in New York use hundreds of tonnes of concrete or steel to do the same job. All this has the potential to make newer buildings safer. But as much of the infrastructure damage in Nepal has shown, it is also very important to apply this hard-won engineering knowledge and retro-fit older buildings as well.
