Awesome Information, Thanks Mate !! I was just wondering, if we can somehow connect to a LAN SQL Server through my Cloud Hosted PHP Code. Any Expert Comments will be highly appreciated. *Assumption* - I have Full control on my Cloud server as well as my LAN SQL Server Database.
+jagdeep kumar sah - bro. If you want only to access the main system by using your program...then we have to install only in one main system....
If you wants to use and manipulate SQL data..for example wants to retrieve data using SQL query in ssms...then on both system we need SQL server installed.....
+jagdeep kumar sah - bro....same is what we have given in this video...manage or access one database from another PC over a network.....
Means there will be only one SQL server . we can access this SQL server from other machines.....
+Rukhsar Ahmad - so basically you have three computer...
1 server where you installed the SQL server and forwarded the IP...
2 a computer from where you was successfully connected to server.
3 second computer from which you are not able to connect to server....
If that is the case..are you able to ping from second computer to server....?....
many many thank you for your valuable reply, it working fine i have check it. but i have another small issue with it, that my connection string not working in second computer with asp.net mvc i am using Web API.
1. in Computer one working v good. (from which i access database)
2. but in Computer 2 not while i am connected with database from second computer.
+Rukhsar Ahmad - this method that I have shown depends only IP that is configured...
So nothing will change this setup as long as IP is correct....
I have been using this method for many of my clients.....
Yes sometimes I may not be able to connect...because of IP change....then I do following method...
1. Either I would change current IP written on the config of my project with the new IP...
Else...instead of IP, I use server name to connect...
Means...instead of 192.168.1.1, 1433... I use..
So i don't need put my database in hosting website to access it ...just do the configuration in ms sql .... I want to link android app an vb.net project with on sql database ...when user login from android it must show in vb.net
Sorry I know my questions are silly and thanks for your time and your great tutorials❤
In this video....we have explained how to connect to sql server which is on another network from your system....
This can be done different platform also.....
if you are ok to connect to a sql server from android then you can do it over a network also....
Just change the connection string and update sql configuration as shown in this video.......
+watsup hayy - ....thanks for your update....
1. On windows 10, Control Panel→Administrative Tools→Computer Management
under Services and application , sqlsever configuration manager can be found.
2. To open SQL Server Configuration Manager, in the Search, under Apps, type:
SQLServerManager14.msc for [SQL Server 2017] or
SQLServerManager13.msc for [SQL Server 2016] or
SQLServerManager12.msc for [SQL Server 2014] or
SQLServerManager11.msc for [SQL Server 2012] or
SQLServerManager10.msc for [SQL Server 2008], and then press
Im using SQL sever 2014 it works for me, but there is lil bit hard part, on how to show sqlsever configuration manager.
To show it in sql 2014 you need to open run command (ctrl+R) then type SQLSeverManager12.msc
The best way is that make the database part in WCF. Then host this WCF project in one of your server.
WCF produce more security over internet threats and SQL injection.
After that Call this WCF service from your any application whether php or ASP since WCF is platform independent.
in SQL server, enable SQL server Authentication mode and add a username and password.
Now do a restart SQL server.
Now open SQL Configuration manager.
Select you sql instance.
Enable TCP .
Add a port under IP All section and press apply.
Now again do a SQL server restart.
You can see this much of steps from the beginning of the video.
Just follow as it in the video.
If you are trying outside the network, all you need to do is make your one port public. Note the IP also.
Now follow the steps on this video for the second machine.
Means...Sql server authentication, Sql Configuration Modification, Firewall config...
Now use the ip and port for connecting outside any network.
in the datasource section, just give the IP with Port as you use on SSMS.
Better, you use Visual studio to map the Server and get the Constring that it generate.
connection string='data source="192.168.111.45, 1433";initial catalog=DBNAme;user id=username;
password=PASSWORD;MultipleActiveResultSets=True;App=EntityFramework'" providerName="System.Data.EntityClient" />
how to ping..?
1. Get your base machine ip address.
2. open cmd from connected machine.
3. type" ping ip address " from connected machine. If you get response...you can proceed.
4. Else there is having network issues between two.
sir ,Guide Me
1. if i go through IP connection what kind of security i need to provide, suggest me some best methods(hint plz)
2. which option would be better from below
(a). Provide separate User login for each remote PC
(b) .Provide just one User login for all remote PC
compare in terms of speed
Its all about how much security that you can provide for the database.
In connecting using IP address, how much security that you can provide?
If you are not confident, go with first option.
Second...How much optimized your third party is and are they always good..these are some home work that should be done.
In case any minor issue..you can put a test case of whether its because of third party.
thanks sir, finally i found the solution by port forwarding in router and able connect in Public IP also, i have another question , plz suggest me which option would be better for
1.hosting localdb over the internet using third party cloud
2.connect normally using ip address
which one is better???? Plz reply
Hey Tej...welcome here.
1. Try to ping from both systems for ensuring connection Status.
2. If you are able to ping from both systems, then try to connect using MS management studio as shown in this video.
Please tell me your status now. Have you able to ping at least.
Hi, Thank you very much for this tutorial. I have a small question, I am able to connect remotely to LocalDB .mdf database (located on PC1) from PC2, but if that .mdf database is used by PC1, PC2 can't open it. How to resolve this problem please.
1. first you have to enable the sql authentication on sql server.
2. Then add user mapping for this user for that database.
3. Configure SQL Configuration Manager for port 1433.
4. Configure your firewall to allow any traffic through 1433 port.
5. Definitely restart SQL server after these steps.
6. Then first try to ping first machine from second.
7. And then try using your app or SQL management studio of second machine to connect to first machine.
Brother thanks for very nice turtorial. i want to install vistual studio and sql server for learning. can you advise which one should i install first? and there are so many versions like visual studio 2015 and sql server 2012 etc. which one is best which one is good for learning? Please brother reply i would be really greatful to you.
thank you for kind reply thats indeed very helpful.
i found free edition of sql server 2012 express edition. is there any free one available for VS2015 for learners? license fee would be very costly :( your videos are really helpful and absolute to the point. Keep up great work. I have subscribed to your channel. best wishes.
Both are independent. Install VS or SQL server doesn't matter. Ultimate edition of VS have Sql server inbuilt. But it is good to have a separate SQL server and Management Studio installation.
VS 2015 is with latest update and coding friendly made. That would be better, if you have good system configuration.
SQL server 2012+ express edition needs to be installed for development purpose.
So VS 2015 ultimate. SQL server 2012 express edition, SQL server Management Studio are enough for programming.
On Second machine do following.
1. Configure SQL Express To Allow Remote Connection.
2. Enable SQL Server Authentication mode.
3. Your Login / User should be enabled for db_owner, db_reader, db_writer.
4. Enable TCP for the SQL Instance on SQL Server Configuration Manager.
5. On IPALL section assign a port number. Not for dynamic port.
6. Next do a SQL Server restart.
7. Allow firewall to allow above assigned port (Create New Inbound Rule).
8. Your Computer should be allowed to access from network.
That's all, this much of step will definitely Make this happen.
For generating connection string I prefer use entity framework connection string.
I love this edgy look! I was so excited that her hair, even as short as it is now, was still able to be put into the fun and trendy dutch pigtail braids! Instead of braiding to the ends, I ended them in close together pigtails at the nape of her neck. After I finished braiding, I tugged on the outsides of the braid gently to loosen them and make them a little messy and fun! Since she doesn’t have enough hair to tie around the elastics, I made sure to use elastics that matched her hair so they blend in as much as possible. You could also cover them with clips or bows! A view from the back of her Dutch pigtail braids! A great braid for short hair is a micro accent braid! My biggest tip for braiding short hair would be to add in small slices of hair rather than big ones. I did a small (micro) braid along a slightly curved deep part for anther cute and edgy look! You could also do another one next to it if you wanted a little more to the look, but I really liked how simple this one was. You can see how the part curves a little better from this view of the back. I ended the braid close to the head with an elastic that matched her hair. For our fourth style, we did a 3/4 french braid! Super simple but also super cute! You could do any type braid! It would also look cute using a Dutch braid or a fishtail braid! I loved the side view of this braid! I will for sure be doing this one next time she goes to gymnastics or swimming, whichever comes first! Our last braid is two four dutch lace braids into two loops in the back. Start off by parting the hair down the middle. On each side of the part, do a dutch lace braid, adding hair in from only the section closest to the part as you braid. Tie the braids together in the back with a small elastic and before you pull the hair all the way through to make a ponytail, leave it in a cute little loop! If the hair is a little bit longer, you could do a tiny bun. Repeat this directly under the braid you just did so you have two rows and two loops.
We will have to be coming up with lots more short hair braids in the future, so be sure to give us a follow over at our newly redesigned blog Abella’s Braids to see more as we do them!
Thanks for reading! See you again this time next month!
love these ideas! My daughter recently cut about 8 inches off her hair and is loving her shorter hair, but I’ve mostly been at a loss of what to do with it! Thanks!
Abella has been begging me for at least a year, probably closer to two years, to cut her hair. I posted a photo on Instagram with a question in the caption. “Abella has been begging me to cut her hair short, do you think I should let her do it?” Almost everyone said “YES!” So thanks to all of the good advice from my followers, we did it…and we haven’t regretted it for a second! I think she looks so cute and it really fits her personality! It’s for sure a lot harder to come up with braids but it’s pushed me to step out of my comfort zone! We wanted to show you that even if you have short hair, there are lots of cute braids you can still do!
This first braid (above) is three ladder braids. Start out with a part deep to one side. On the side with less hair, start out by doing a waterfall braid along the part. Under that one, do another waterfall braid, but incorporate the waterfall pieces from the one above it as you braid. Under that one, do a french braid. Incorporate the waterfall pieces from the second braid as you go. We braided each one to the ends and used elastics that matched her hair to tie them off.
