i have an odd question, when you say you price them at $15 for a shirt, what do you charge for shipping? Or are there certain circumstances where it's free or its a base rate for every item? Thank you, love the videos, subscribed, and I'm listening to all your advice!
Not a big profit, but all One World stuff sells for $15 I but lots of clothes at rummage sales and yard sales for a dollar a piece. Oh, and stay clear of Ann Taylor LoFT! Got loads, it just sits.. markets just flooded
RockstarFlipper I listened to you today and do understand about multiple platforms. How it may get more confusing esp cross listing and taking items down that sold etc. I think there’s a good YouTube market for a great posher though....I find I rely on you and a few others for content. I’m at least happy you’re here. My husband thinks you’re a hoot. Thank you for taking the time for the vids. It MATTERS!
Ooo Lauren Conrad made this list! Her things really are nice.. If they weren't already priced so low to begin with they'd...well that's a stupid thing to say lol er if they were priced high they'd be priced high der. 😜 I wonder if she doesn't realize she could command more or if she's purposefully trying to keep it affordable.
Awesome vid. :)
If you go to vogue.com/fashion-shows, then select the designer tab, there's an alphabetical list of pretty much every luxury brand designer. If you're not that familiar with couture brands it might be helpful to put this on your cellphone to take with you when sourcing. Anything on that list is pretty much guaranteed to be an excellent flip if it's in reasonable condition.
That said, you know the name of the game: Do Your Research. For example, Prabal Gurung sells special occasion dresses retailing up to well over $2000 and t-shirts for over $150, but also manufactures a line called Prabal Gurung for Target which usually ends up selling for under 10 bucks on ebay.
Betsey Johnson: I recommend only buying handbags and special occasion, wedding, and runway/couture dresses by her, everything else is hit-or-miss or fail on ebay. Her pre-bankruptcy (2012) dresses are most popular. If you can find those GRAB EM. The "good stuff" usually has lots of fluffy petticoats, sparkles, garish colors and quirky prints. One in good condition you should be able to sell for between $100-400, depending on which one.
The design/logo on Rock Revivals is called a fleur-de-lis, and the ones on the back pockets are upside-down.
Chicos, Ellos, Long Tall Sally plus, Rue107, Lane Bryant, Alight, Amoureuse (lingerie), Asos tall plus, and Ulla Popken are a few plus size brands to keep an eye out for, but like you say, often times it needs a unique print, stylish details, etc. to move. If you go to fullbeauty.com and click on brands, there are a bunch of popular plus sized brands there you can check out, but beware as some of them are pretty chintzy (e.g. Woman Within, Roaman's, Only Necessities). That said, I still sometimes see those brands selling decent on ebay, depending what is up for bid. Keyword alert: Look for 'lagenlook' plus sized stuff too, and use that keyword in listings if the garment is really a lagenlook style.
You never mentioned muh FAVORITES; VINCE. & JAMES PERSE! If I don't find at least one or the other in a shopping trip I'm depressed.
but I'm dying to go to a goodwill with bins. I've looked & they don't seem to have them in south Florida. mostly way north.
RockstarFlipper Keep an eye out for them both. they usually appear to be basic Tee shirts- mostly grays & white or black.. but they have cult like following. (I'm the leader:) New plain short sleeve men or women's Standard James Perse basic tee are like $95, preowned- no less than $30. I sell James Perse tee-shirt dresses for $50-60-80.
VINCE.- mostly women blouses & tees but come in silk too. Both brands are really basic looking & really expensive!
I'm in Miami and our goodwills have tons on madewell. in fact I bought a basic crop tee shirt ($3), sold it really fast for 19.95, so I bought like 5-6 more tees, they're practically new, and they've been sitting for over a month :(
For me, H&M is devalued. They're in Chicago and always running sales. UrbOutfitters was a big name for a while, but it's going down. However, their purses sell well, if you can get them. They're not manuf'ing purses anymore. I have a BCBG leather stiletto boot for $48 or BO and no takers. No buyers. Go figure.
I try to stay away from women's clothing, too slow, and try to go with name brand purses. MK handbags sell really well, as well as Steve Madden. Every purse I listed sold.
I have J.Jill and Talbots tops and not selling. I may have to start auction at the lowest amt .99c.
Do you sell on poshmark? It seems that Talbot's is popular on there if I'm not mistaken. I've even searched that brand on there. And you said your Steve Madden presses sold well? Did you stick with a certain style?
No Tory Burch? Is she just hard to find? Or Francesca's? Just not popular enough? Baublebar? Or they're just jewelry, but I've seen some good things come out of there because BB sells out of items quickly, I would think. And I think Sears and BCBG both closed. Hope that helps. Great vid. Took tons of notes!!! Thank you so, so much!
Knowledge is power and when you share your knowledge it creates a chain reaction of positive growth....something that is greatly needed right now. So thanks for being part of the solution! Keep creating value content, on any subject, and I will watch....no thanks needed.
Keeping up with all your latest videos. Very good info on womens brands ... looking forward to the mens. I know all this takes up tons of time & effort to get these done, so I always hit the like button and allow the ads to run. Checked out some of your links, Much appreciated ...
Great video! This is information I can really use!..Betsy Johnson has been around for a good many years. Decades actually! Cool, quirky-sexy garments! Donatella Versace took over her brother's business...Keep up the good work!
Great video! You forgot one major hot seller - Lane Bryant and their intimate line Cacique. Pretty much anything Lane Bryant sells well and quickly. Their bathing suits can bring in major profits, especially if it was a popular style. I've flipped Tankini tops for $45-$50 off season. Cacique bras can get you $17-$20, their nighties around the same. Sizes 18/20 & 22/24 sell the best since they sell out of the stores the quickest.
RockstarFlipper, you are one of the few I follow. ...thank you for the information you provide. I see you are up in Tampa, I thrift down in South Florida. Hope to meet you someday. Keep up the good work!
I really can't tell you how much you've helped me. My husband will ask me what I'm doing all closed up in the bedroom for and my response is "I'm in eBay school." He just looked at me weird. lol I told him my teacher's name was RockstarFlipper. He just said "Ooookkkaaayyyy" and shut the door. lol
Thanks for responding. Most sellers on eBay do not respond when I write. We started selling about 6 yrs. ago out of an emergency and with no money. We are hoping to get past just paying bills and keeping the business afloat. Goals are to hire help after increasing income, to double our business. I also have many wholesale suppliers with over a million products that we hope to expand into several platforms later. We have used them in the past. If you ever need help there, let me know privately. So yes the one obstacle for us now is funding for expansion and we will not take on debt to do it.
I noticed Nike sales have gone down i think because tj maxx has nike stuff for $10 and victoria secret also has gone down a little because of the fakes on aliexpress :( Eileen Fisher is always a good one. Your in a great market to flip Louis vuitton and handbags, do you ever get into handbags?
Great video,Casey, you will find sometimes Soft surrounding is the Goodwill outlet/Bargain Barns, items sell always between $25-$35 used, great quality you can wash it and it will not lose any shape/ form or color. Got also Madewell, but surprisingly didn't sell so high, if I remember right was under $20.
Hello, Loving this video. Thank you for sharing these. I hope you don't mind. I have a question off topic. I've searched Ebay & Google with no luck. But, I am having a few unsold items drop both in the unsold folder but also in the Draft folder ( Which I don't want them to go in Drafts) Any help you can give to stop that is appreciated. Thank you Staci/Simple 2faith.
I love this edgy look! I was so excited that her hair, even as short as it is now, was still able to be put into the fun and trendy dutch pigtail braids! Instead of braiding to the ends, I ended them in close together pigtails at the nape of her neck. After I finished braiding, I tugged on the outsides of the braid gently to loosen them and make them a little messy and fun! Since she doesn’t have enough hair to tie around the elastics, I made sure to use elastics that matched her hair so they blend in as much as possible. You could also cover them with clips or bows! A view from the back of her Dutch pigtail braids! A great braid for short hair is a micro accent braid! My biggest tip for braiding short hair would be to add in small slices of hair rather than big ones. I did a small (micro) braid along a slightly curved deep part for anther cute and edgy look! You could also do another one next to it if you wanted a little more to the look, but I really liked how simple this one was. You can see how the part curves a little better from this view of the back. I ended the braid close to the head with an elastic that matched her hair. For our fourth style, we did a 3/4 french braid! Super simple but also super cute! You could do any type braid! It would also look cute using a Dutch braid or a fishtail braid! I loved the side view of this braid! I will for sure be doing this one next time she goes to gymnastics or swimming, whichever comes first! Our last braid is two four dutch lace braids into two loops in the back. Start off by parting the hair down the middle. On each side of the part, do a dutch lace braid, adding hair in from only the section closest to the part as you braid. Tie the braids together in the back with a small elastic and before you pull the hair all the way through to make a ponytail, leave it in a cute little loop! If the hair is a little bit longer, you could do a tiny bun. Repeat this directly under the braid you just did so you have two rows and two loops.
We will have to be coming up with lots more short hair braids in the future, so be sure to give us a follow over at our newly redesigned blog Abella’s Braids to see more as we do them!
Thanks for reading! See you again this time next month!
love these ideas! My daughter recently cut about 8 inches off her hair and is loving her shorter hair, but I’ve mostly been at a loss of what to do with it! Thanks!
Abella has been begging me for at least a year, probably closer to two years, to cut her hair. I posted a photo on Instagram with a question in the caption. “Abella has been begging me to cut her hair short, do you think I should let her do it?” Almost everyone said “YES!” So thanks to all of the good advice from my followers, we did it…and we haven’t regretted it for a second! I think she looks so cute and it really fits her personality! It’s for sure a lot harder to come up with braids but it’s pushed me to step out of my comfort zone! We wanted to show you that even if you have short hair, there are lots of cute braids you can still do!
This first braid (above) is three ladder braids. Start out with a part deep to one side. On the side with less hair, start out by doing a waterfall braid along the part. Under that one, do another waterfall braid, but incorporate the waterfall pieces from the one above it as you braid. Under that one, do a french braid. Incorporate the waterfall pieces from the second braid as you go. We braided each one to the ends and used elastics that matched her hair to tie them off.
