n what may be the most unexpected team-up since Archie met The Punisher, Sony and Microsoft have announced plans to form a "strategic partnership" through which they will collaborate on the development of cloud-based technology to support their game and streaming services.
"Sony is a creative entertainment company with a solid foundation of technology. We collaborate closely with a multitude of content creators that capture the imagination of people around the world, and through our cutting-edge technology, we provide the tools to bring their dreams and vision to reality," Sony president and CEO Kenichiro Yoshida said in a statement.
"For many years, Microsoft has been a key business partner for us, though of course the two companies have also been competing in some areas. I believe that our joint development of future cloud solutions will contribute greatly to the advancement of interactive content."

One thing I think you got wrong was that it was Microsoft going to Sony to see how they can beat Nintendo. Microsoft has been working with Nintendo and don't view them as direct competition. I think Sony went to Microsoft because Google stadia. They see streaming becoming bigger and they don't have the proficiency that Microsoft does with streaming.
Microsoft's enormous investment in cloud computing is starting to pay off. Cloud based A.I in mmo's will revolutionise games as a service.
Microsoft are the real deal. They aren't releasing empty, buggy games that act as little more than a platform for them to profit from micro-transactions, they're instead working on technologies that will redefine gaming and bring it to a much wider audience.
They're ahead of the curve and making all the right moves.
Future gaming = No need for 'consoles' - as when you can Stream any of these games directly into your tablet / laptop/ phone and or identikit set-top box or Smart TV / the only thing the likes of Sony or MS need to sell is the either laptop/ phone / TV / a game controller and obviously the games software.... oh and of course your yearly online subscription fees ! :-)
No U idiot i just means that thy are going to use the same technology Xbox is not going to stream to PlayStation.
Xbox will stream to Xbox and PlayStation will stream to PlayStation WITH THE SAME TECHNOLOGY !!!
Exclusives will stay EXCLUSIVE
So does this mean if say I play PlayStation, I will no be called a Gaystation player? Does this mean Xbox and PlayStation players will be able to play cross platform? Does this mean, the Console War is over?
Hahaha Sony is like that 1 cousin who you try to hang out with and go out of your way to see them and then last minute after you've driven to pick them up, they say things like oh I got a migraine or I think I'm sick etc.......
People are reading way too much into what this will end up being. It is just Sony looking for a better back-end and the best fit was Microsoft's Azure. It could have ended up being AWS, Google Cloud or another. Azure sweetened the deal by offering to work with their imaging tech (which is pretty good but hit hard by the mobile slow down). People looking to this meaning anything else (like PS games - streaming or otherwise coming to the Xbox or vice versa) are just wrong. This is no different than Amazon's AWS being the backed for all of Netflix streaming. That partnership doesn't mean that Netflix is getting Amazon Prime shows or Amazon shows are showing up on Netflix. Sony is just a client (like hundreds of thousands of other Azure clients) and Microsoft will work to make that client happy.
That Sony will be using a service Microsoft offers for streaming games to their consoles sure, but keep in mind it's not a xbox Sony partnership.
This whole thing has to do with a solution for scalable cloud gaming, and that a partnership with someone who's already developing such, Microsoft's Azure, makes sense.
That it could bring cross-play, sure, but nothing of the sort has been stated.
Stating "Microsoft is going to be streaming games onto ps4 consoles, and quite possibly we could see ps4 stuff streaming on xbox" can quite easily be misunderstood for the first part.
Microsoft is prob teaming up with sony, because microsoft has gotten extremely lazy lately...
Their store on windows is completely forgotten or completely being neglected, & the exclusive games are almost non-existant now...
But then again, sony is showing signs too, because they neglect all their new products that get released, -_-
PSP, PSP 2000, PS Vita,
Six Axis, PS Eye, PS Move,
Non-Release of ?PS Move Tablet?,
PS4 Controller Touchpad,
& many more things, -_-
I dont get why xbox & ps would work together is a good thing?
You guys are so lazy, you just cant buy 2 consoles, & enjoy both, you want 2 for the price of 1, -_-
All because your too lazy to get up, & switch them out on the tv, or use source button on remote...
This is like saying, you want to be a Fat azs on purpose, because you think its healthier then trying to stay in shape , lOl...
its not xbox and playstation working together its SONY and MICROSOFT. The companies themselves. If people actually cared to read they are talking about all of entertainment not just specifically games. Plus as companies Sony and Microsoft has done stuff together before when Microsoft uses their blue-rays. This is not about gaming.
fucking hell, I know I cant stand this guys voice because he sounds like a fucking tool but he was I thought he might have some useful information on the title. Got to 1:50 and had to stop watching, his face, his voice.
Good video the only thing i would say i disagree with how you analyzed the wording of the paragraph. My understanding of the plug was that sony was going to draw off Microsoft's infrastructure for the XBONE. while Microsoft draws off Sony's game design. In addition to experimental collaboration.
No no no no. I have watched your content for a long time and never heard you over hype something so off base before. Online infrastructure. Never even said anything about games let alone exclusives being ported to rival systems. Too much over hype for your fans man. Still, I love your channel anyways. Just had to point this out. Love ya man!
Unpopular opinion but I don't think this is a good thing. If they work together for obvious things like cross-play that's good, but that's about all I want to see them work together on. Competition between these two companies is great for gamers because it motivates each company to make the best games and the best systems. We are better off if these companies are not working together and are constantly trying to one-up each other. More competition, consumer wins. Less competition, consumer loses.
I think you missed the mark with this video.
Microsoft, seeing the Google Stadia landscape ahead to take a chunk of the hardware market (which Microsoft is already getting slim pickings from), has conceded. They’re waiving the white flag of surrender/peace to SONY. There will not be an Xbox 1080 or Anaconda or whatever. PS Now games will not be on the next Xbox; Xbox Live will be on the next Playstation (as it is with the Nintendo Switch and PC). Everything in those press announcements that you read says Microsoft = Cloud/Azure Gaming, SONY = Hardware/Condole manufacturing.
The only thing left to say about all of this is: Gears of War 1 Remaster on PS5...😉
Wouldn’t read to much into this doubt your going to see a lot of Sony’s top games on Xbox wouldn’t make much sense for Sony considering Xbox has no games and Nintendo has always been big in Japan if you have ever arcades are still big over there
The holy prophisized day is here where the two kingdoms join to be one yaaaay! Xbox and PS4 become brothers so I greet all my new Xbox brothers!!!!!! We will all benefit and reap rewards from this peace sry if it sounds dramatic af
To be fair I doubt very seriously that Sony and Microsoft are doing this because of Nintendo Switch Sales remember that Nintendo and Microsoft also have a healthy relationship Minecraft and even Cuphead as well as the rumor mill of Microsoft wanting to put Live on all systems including Nintendo's Switch so I doubt very seriously it has anything to do with Nintendo in this case for Sony and Microsofts partnership It doesn't add up. If anything it's because of Google Stadia and it's talk about being the greatest streaming service 8k blah blah blah. It's a tall claim but will see what happens from there.
I personally think Microsoft is actually trying to do a partnership with both Nintendo and Sony to fight Stadia since they have such an insane claim. Nintendo and Sony may jump on board because they need better online they both know this and with Microsofts new attitude of wanting their games to be played on anything and everything they must not see Microsoft as that much of a threat in this case?
But another one is about to begin.
I hope you all know what it is happening.
Sony and Microsoft will be working together, not because of business or because of goodness, not at all, they know what is coming, a bigger threat to consoles and conventional gaming in general is looming in the horizon. A sleeping technological monster is about to be awaken by the evil forces of unconventional gaming.
This upcoming war will be known as the great war which will last 300 years.
All consoles at one point will come together, Sony and Microsoft will be the first to form what will be known as the Gaming Federation for the survival of traditional gaming and for the protection of fans (gamers).
You better believe it, an ultra powerful machine designed by Google and its evil forces is about to be awaken and it promise to exterminate conventional consoles and gaming as we know it.
So, it is logical that Sony and Microsoft will join forces in order to stay alive.
The 300 year great war will bring nothing, but brutality and misery across the conventional gaming world, this is why this join is so important, for it will be the beginning of the Gaming Federation, a global organization of consoles to protect conventional gaming and its fans.
I doubt the console war will be over. Sony is teaming up with microsoft in a company view and not console. Sony will use and learn from its cloud in internet services. While microsoft in return gets helped from Sony in an area where thwy weak at. I very dobut Sony is going to allow exclusives on to the XBox and vice versa. More likely will only be 3rd party games and old non exclusives that would be allowed to be shared on the cloud. Sony still is gonna want to sell as many consoles to make money so I dobut Sony is gonna share their exclusive games.
You guys are making it out to something that it isnt and its clickbaity and ridiculous, and you know it. First and foremost microsoft is a software manufacterer. They are teaming up for online stuff if you can even call it that. It's business. Horizion zero dawn isnt xoming to xbox and cuphead isnt coming ti ps4
Sounds to me like they’re trying to make all games fall under “games as a service”.
This will be great for people who don’t mind having their games unplayable when support is removed... but for people who like to play their games long after everyone else has given up on them, this is terrible news.
Less competition is NOT good for the consumer.
If the giants of the industry get into bed together, you should wonder what their kids are going to look like.
Yes they will be sharing info, but the headline is Sony working with Microsoft not xbox. As we know sonys ps now platform is already on Windows so it would make sense given that xbox also want to break through with a streaming service.
I doubt very much you'll see ps4 exclusives on an xbox platform, it would literally make no sense.
I love this edgy look! I was so excited that her hair, even as short as it is now, was still able to be put into the fun and trendy dutch pigtail braids! Instead of braiding to the ends, I ended them in close together pigtails at the nape of her neck. After I finished braiding, I tugged on the outsides of the braid gently to loosen them and make them a little messy and fun! Since she doesn’t have enough hair to tie around the elastics, I made sure to use elastics that matched her hair so they blend in as much as possible. You could also cover them with clips or bows! A view from the back of her Dutch pigtail braids! A great braid for short hair is a micro accent braid! My biggest tip for braiding short hair would be to add in small slices of hair rather than big ones. I did a small (micro) braid along a slightly curved deep part for anther cute and edgy look! You could also do another one next to it if you wanted a little more to the look, but I really liked how simple this one was. You can see how the part curves a little better from this view of the back. I ended the braid close to the head with an elastic that matched her hair. For our fourth style, we did a 3/4 french braid! Super simple but also super cute! You could do any type braid! It would also look cute using a Dutch braid or a fishtail braid! I loved the side view of this braid! I will for sure be doing this one next time she goes to gymnastics or swimming, whichever comes first! Our last braid is two four dutch lace braids into two loops in the back. Start off by parting the hair down the middle. On each side of the part, do a dutch lace braid, adding hair in from only the section closest to the part as you braid. Tie the braids together in the back with a small elastic and before you pull the hair all the way through to make a ponytail, leave it in a cute little loop! If the hair is a little bit longer, you could do a tiny bun. Repeat this directly under the braid you just did so you have two rows and two loops.
We will have to be coming up with lots more short hair braids in the future, so be sure to give us a follow over at our newly redesigned blog Abella’s Braids to see more as we do them!
Thanks for reading! See you again this time next month!
love these ideas! My daughter recently cut about 8 inches off her hair and is loving her shorter hair, but I’ve mostly been at a loss of what to do with it! Thanks!
Abella has been begging me for at least a year, probably closer to two years, to cut her hair. I posted a photo on Instagram with a question in the caption. “Abella has been begging me to cut her hair short, do you think I should let her do it?” Almost everyone said “YES!” So thanks to all of the good advice from my followers, we did it…and we haven’t regretted it for a second! I think she looks so cute and it really fits her personality! It’s for sure a lot harder to come up with braids but it’s pushed me to step out of my comfort zone! We wanted to show you that even if you have short hair, there are lots of cute braids you can still do!
This first braid (above) is three ladder braids. Start out with a part deep to one side. On the side with less hair, start out by doing a waterfall braid along the part. Under that one, do another waterfall braid, but incorporate the waterfall pieces from the one above it as you braid. Under that one, do a french braid. Incorporate the waterfall pieces from the second braid as you go. We braided each one to the ends and used elastics that matched her hair to tie them off.
