Imagine how painful it would be to walk on it...

beach glass is the one form of pollution that has actually ended up where it came from. given enough time the beach will turn it back into sand. i think it is pretty cool that trash actually transforms itself into something people "want" to pick up!!!!

You can't take the glass. Why? It's old bottles from a landfill that has washed up on a beach. Just because someone decides it now belongs to them because 'it looks nice' doesn't make it so. So fed up with spurious ownership right[s of literally anything and everything, like 'owning plots on the moon because someone sold me a certificate on Ebay'

Isn't sand a smaller version of glass
WashingtonWebFoot (8 months ago)
No. Sand is small particles of rock or sea shells. While silica sand is an ingredient in glass (as well as other sands, such as quartz), it is not the only ingredient and it, along with the other materials, are melted then re-cooled and solidified in a process which turns it into a non-crystalline structure (think solid liquid). It will never again take on a crystallized structure and thus can never really be considered a natural mineral again. So, rather than eroding back into true sand, it simply becomes smaller and smaller pieces of glass.
