very valuable explanation. thanks so much. I had Premiere Pro on a brand new laptop but I couldn't get it to work well even though my graphics card was very decent and I had heaps of RAM. Your video helped find a great alternative
So awesome to hear it! 😀

TLDR: So lesson here, don't spend any money and get Davinci resolve. It's better than everything else. If you want to spend more than $200 on video editing software then you're skill, knowledge, and needs are such that you didn't need to watch this video in the first place. Cheers. Justin, thanks so much for making this video. This was incredibly helpful for the complete beginner and I appreciate the time and energy you take to put into your videos. It's obvious you're a pro and I learned a lot from watching you. Cheers.
Yes, that is a good take away! No problem, thanks 👍

Where is pinnacle studio 22 ultimate? Why it isn't in the list? I think pinnacle studio 22 ultimate is a very good software, not the best, but why it's missing in the list?
There are just so many great apps out there!

Justin, I have looked at your videos and thanks for breaking down how and what is best for video editing. However I have a question in that essence. I can't afford a $1,200 desktop....and a new monitor and a premiere editing program. My current desktop was given to me for free but can barley handle what I am currently using (Shotcut). How can I find everything that I need for $1,200 .... I have two monitors right now from Dell but they are not HDMI....just USB and VGA. HELP!!

Premier pro for for me is king, but when I tried davinci resolve I was surprised how easy and powerful it is, i am still debating if I want to upgrade to the full version or keep using premier pro and paying of it when I need it
Well you can totally have both, continue using Premiere for edits and then you could use Davinci Resolve for color correction... Davinci is free anyway!
roxigrl24 (1 month ago)
Shotcut put malware on my computer. Now on 30+ minutes trying to remove! Davinci Resolve requires windows 10 which I had removed from my computer and went back to 7. I absolutely hated Windows 10! Too bad : /

Great vid, liked, however I feel after watching and reading the comments I've just wasted 30+mins of my life, I am a total novice with a big fat capital N and find myself at the same point I was half hour ago.ie fkn clueless, haha. (Not your fault btw) I was going for Powerdirector, not least cos there's "squillions" of tutorials on YT and though I'm a biff I can hopefully follow ....click this....click that...(hopefully) That said,Thanks for taking the time out to make the video and also mash my head,

I've got Apoweredit in a giveaway and Its really good for beginners. Really happy with it :D
Youramon (1 month ago)
The free version has a watermark but the paid version is very cheap. Just 39,99$ a year. But I still wouldn’t recommend buying it. There are tons of online services who give it to you for free and legally. I got it from giveawayoftheday.com . Just wait a little and It‘ll come at some time or another. :D

If you produce a file with Filmora 9 and author a Blu-Ray with Wonder Share DVD creator. The disc will not play in a online connected Blu-Ray player. So much for DSLR recordings.

I bought Corel and hate it. It isn’t easy to figure out. I am looking for something that is simpler to use. I’m not necessarily interested in all the gs I can add to my videos such as music or sound effects I just need something to cut clips out and add an intro and ending that’s fun.

Justin Brown - Primal Video I will try and get back to you. Tks for this video. It’s been the most interesting and easy to understand.

Marmaduke Winterbotham (1 month ago)
I just downloaded Filmora to check it out. I found it useless. It doesn't even come close to my ancient, discontinued MoviePlus!! Fading in and out is bizarre and convoluted. MoviePlus: just drag the edge of the clip. No way to enlarge the audio waveform for the purposes of syncing. MoviePlus: simply drag the bottom edge down! Is it worth me trying out the demos of any of the others here I wonder...

is there something other than premiere that has can be used on desktop and mobile?
Adobe Rush can be used on both 😃

currently using shotcut but its glitchy, plus im having a hard time trying to make or add animated titles or gifs. i wanna switch to Divinci resolve but it looks really complicated for me. but i was wondering if you know weather they offer animated titles....essentially what i want to do is have custom logos on my youtube screen that pop in creatively instead of just popping up ( ie moving a keyboard mouse from the subscribe button to the bell animation....or a semi transparent colored bar slides in from the left of the screen and then my name slides in a few seconds after that....just some ( what i thought was basic ) animations. are you able to recommend anything? ive seen multiple you-tubers have access to effects like this and i just cant find the right words or terms to describe the features im looking for in an editing program. tyvm for the video too

Filmora9 is terrible! When you import a full hd clip, it doesn't able to maintain the sync between audio and video. You have to change fps to lower value to have a good match (e.g. from 29,97 fps to 25). But more tragic: it depletes the video quality. I was a previous and enthusiast user of Wondershare Filmora 7.8, but 9 version has rejected for me. The Filmora Pro version instead, I read good reviews. Anyway, Adobe Premiere Pro CC now is probably the top program.

Davinci didn't work for me on windows 10. Had to uninstall it.

I went with Filmora9 because of this video, I'm doing very basic editing and haven't used video editing software in over 8 yrs, the playback can be a little laggy but it's ui is really easy to use for a beginner

Hello sir. I certainly have been watching a LOT of drone/photography/video-editing YouTube videos since I purchased my Phantom 4 Pro+. I must say you are by far the best presenter I have come across here. You provide a well-informed summary of the many video editing software. You also have fantastic presentation skills that keep the audience interested. You also appear to provide a very honest opinion. I don't mind spending several hundred dollars on a tool, even if I'm a novice. I'm just getting started and who knows, I may one day do this semi-professionaly in my spare time. I just don't like paying a monthly fee! Adobe Premier sounds great. I just can't see paying $20/month. So I'm downloading Da Vinci Resolve 15 for now. Thank you! Rick U.
Thanks! Good luck with Resolve and the videos!

I use vegas movie studio 13. And its pretty user friendly, and i got it pretty cheap on steam. I just get lost in the menus trying to get a quality render. I use obs and a 1080p camera to capture my stuff, and before i put in movie studio the quality is great, but after i finish and render the video the quality isnt very good. Frame drops and sometimes murky video. I dont know how to fix it. So im looking to upgrade.
