All these comments below fail to mention that some of us actually really like certain brands, and just because we have them doesn't mean we are sell outs. You may like the $5 dollar t-shirt, heck, I might like the $5 dollar t-shirt. But I've been saving for a Gucci Handbag for a long time; I personally think it's beautiful. If I could get it cheaper I god damn would, but I like THAT handbag? It's about perception, sure. But no need to be rude.
Gotts say I think expensive varies country to country and its true my parents are from old money and I grew up with it, but none of these are tips that we live by, most of my mothers jewelry and mine was my grand mothers , my mother would never shop in h and m etc she shops well ie: Max Mara, Reiss etc but it lasts for years she shops more for quality than the label and as a result so do I, money is better invested into education etc than clothes but I won't knock this video I think the young lady looks lovely xxx
Late to watching this, but for you Hater Trollers:.
She states UP FRONT what the purpose of her channel is. Fashion, style & beauty.
But for some reason, you thought this was the vlog for your OBNOXIOUS Virtue Signalling !
Did you run out of the gazillion places on social media to VS? You must be bored with those already
Turn your attention back to sniffing each other's hairy, smelly armpits, or comparing the rugs you've woven " for charity" out of your lengthy leg hairs, and go back to Signalling on Insta or FB.
And as for those complaining about her voice etc- let's hear yours.
That's ok - she's out there making the $ while most of you all are probably on People of WalMart. ( Cue Jerry Seinfeld- " Not that there's anything Wrong With That !")
I’m not saying you are wrong about pointy toe shoes, I’m certainly no expert, but to me they have always looked silly and tacky no matter how rich or poor the person who wears them. No one‘s foot is shaped like that. It also visually elongates feet which may work if you wear a size 6 but if you wear a size 9 not so much. And cheaper pointy toe shoes quickly bend at the toe and then it’s clear they are made from poor materials.
Your makeup is pretty and I love your hair. Top & shirt also nice. Mixing more expensive with less expensive-but-nice gets me lots of compliments too. Ebay has great deals on designer clothes for almost nothing if you know what you are looking for. Getting clothes tailored to fit your body is relatively inexpensive but makes you look pretty good.
Button down shirts and nice shoes are waaay better than t shirts. A nice dark bag without logos will keep you from getting robbed. Simple jewelry is nice. One ring on each hand is more than enough, I'm older, so this works for me. Young people, think more stuff and more brands are better.
Of course it's important to be kind and good human being but this girl is just giving us some fashion advices so please stop with that psychological facts, this is fashion video :) Ps you CAN be fancy and good person, it's not some kind of magic ❤
You can have all the money in the world and still look cheap it depends on how the clothes look on you, secondly certain expensive clothes regardless of the brand will always look more expensive especially brands like balmain and Valentino and am sick of looking rich, too many haters in the world
Just came across one of ur videos about an hour or more ago & i really am LOVING alllllll of ur videos. Guess cause feel we are closer in age group & looooooooove ur makeup tips as well as fashion!!! I've been on YouTube for quite a looooong time & somehow never came across any of ur videos, but soooo happy i found u. Think u have a great way about u & how u do ur videos. Subscribed (with notification) while watching 1st video about makeup tips...i WILL DEFINITELY B CONTINUING 2 follow u!!! Best of luck with ur page... think ur great & will be sharing with my 2 sister in laws on here that we're always finding ppl & sharing to follow. 👍🏼👍🏼
Wow it amazes me that videos like this are genuinely needed. This sure is a sign that many out there do not have their own personal unique style, and go for a very generic look just to simply fit, at best... At worst it proves there is a very lost generation who feel that being perceived a certain way makes more acceptable, cool, likeable or even envied... Blah, blah, blah.
It must really take some thick skin to be a YouTube Beauty/Fashion Blogger. How do you do it with so much negativity? I would probably read every comment, focusing on the bad ones, and cry myself to sleep. I think you're great Shea!!! Keep up the great work!!!
Watching you just for few minutes gave me a huge headache. Your voice sounds forced and loud. Quite frankly, if you want to attract people you should do something about it. No matter what you wear the second you open your mouth any guy will just run away. In fact, when I see so “put together” women it’s automatic “no” right there. And you know why? Cause everything about you screams “fake”. You don’t look expensive, you look fake. INMHO🤗
I liked the mixed view of comments. I would say when I was in my 20's this was important to me. Now, my confidence, wisdom, and humanity to others and high emotional intelligence takes me all the way to the end zone.
Now, you have made some good points. I also find when I dress in monochromatic colors with a great pair of shades and a glossy nude lip, people tell me I look like Hollywood, rich and the bomb.com.
Also I invest in good skin care, which helps my look and I would say nice tailored hairstyle.
But the way you present yourself and how you treat others immediately places you at another level.
You can look expensive and treat people like crap. And when I see that, that people looks low end.
Wealth comes from inside out.
Thank you for your video, I am a YouTuber, I enjoyed watching video, what gets me to subscribed is if the other videos on the channel have interesting content that hold value for me or something I can share with others.
I personal enjoyed this video but in my circle of friends would not watch this video only because there focus is different.
My circle is less concerned on looking rich but instead building wealth.
This is why I didn't hit the subscribed button. But I gave you a thumbs up.
I hope this gives a little insight.
😍😍😍 This Most amazing tips and informative Fashionista 👌 I still wear modern clothes and dress much younger for my age I dress up like a 26 year old ! I always wear red lipstick my nails toe nails are red , always get compliments and you gave the most beautiful tips for any young woman to follow ❤️ I like it so much I saved the video and have to give you compliment that you deserve ! I been to France and their trademark Red lipstick 😍 You are a very Classy “ excellent taste “
These other ‘women’ who are spouting such hate for Shea in the comments and then adding a catty ‘sweetie’ or ‘hon’, or implying it, are the REAL problem with why women are perceived by men as never being able to stand toe to toe with them...NOT because many of us like fashion, jewelry, ‘girly’ things...but because we are so petty and vicious with each other and not supportive of each others’ choices that we simply cannot be taken SERIOUSLY by them.
It’s petty jealousy and wanting to be ‘right’ that make passive aggressive women want to put down bright, cheerful women like Shea for something as silly as her VOICE, hand gestures, etc and calling her annoying. Really? Then what does that make you? She loves spreading her joy of fashion, etc on the net. Good for her! Do something positive with your life and stop putting others down.
I SHOULD KNOW about women...I am nothing like Shea but I subscribed because she is genuine and an amazing woman. But we have something in common: I am a combat veteran, 1-17 (AIR) CAV, 82d (ABN) DIV and YES that gives us commonality. Why? Because we know who the real enemy to women’s progress is....was it men who treated me cruelly for being a combat vet? NO. Was it combat vet men, especially infantry that treated me badly? NO. Was it other women? YES. ALL THE TIME.
I subscribed! You’re doing amazing sweetie! (And THAT, ladies, is how you use the word ‘sweetie’)
You are on to something here. We just can’t take you all seriously. I was watching this for ideas for my wife’s birthday and wondered, ‘what kind of catty bitchy comments will he down here?’ So I scrolled down and wasn’t disappointed.
You ppl are your own worst enemies. You wanna know why you can’t get ahead- look in the mirror. Guys stand up for each other. Chicks actively seek out ways to bring each other down.
Newsflash- IT’S NOT ATTRACTIVE!!!
Gwendy S This. This!! It was women that made me want to kill my self several years ago. Not men. 😰. I subscribed to Shea too! Good job Shea!! Keep doing what you love and the self aware among us will love you for it!!
you have hooded circular lids and you should put your dark shadow outside of the circle on the outer and inner corners in a straight line above the crease so that you don't emphasize the circular crease, then use less light colored highlighter under the brow in a thinner line. Then you don't look like you have monkey lids or older woman lids. Also you hair should be parted deeper cuz your face is very long and having that part makes it look even longer. Also you don't need to be a label whore to look expensive, it actually makes you look more cheap because you're a walking advertisement which looks shallow. And people are watching but not subscribing because they like the tips but don't like your voice it's very annoying sounding and nasally, you should get a mic filter to make your voice sound more smooth. Or maybe they don't really like your personality which seems shallow. You might not be shallow but that's how you come off to someone who isn't subscribing. like you're in a commercial.
I'm a user, randomly came across your channel. Honestly I came in thinking you would be way too high maintenance and annoying. Now I'm on my 5th video of yours. Didn't subscribe, and I won't simply because I do not at all care about luxury items or looking expensive, but I'll throw ya a like. You're funny and entertaining so I can watch you for a bit, but after today I probably won't watch you again. Nothing personal, just not something that will hold my interest for long enough because I do not care enough about the things you do.
Shea, first time visiting your page 😍Love the setting, perfect lighting, you cute as a button and most importantly great useful information but if I may... something in the acoustics of the room made the sound waves resonate through the room, it made hard to watch/listen a 12 min video. Would love to follow your page
i literally do all of these except pointy shoes and show off brand labels. unless its a heel on a boot or stiletto pointy shoes IMO make every ones feet look huge. and showing off name brand logos just looks gaudy and cheap. expensive name brands usually have small logos that not everyone's going to notice. good tips tho overall
You offer some very good advice Shea Whitney, but so many females, especially young ones, think that showing as much skin as possible is the way to get attention. Females need to realize that there are more sex offenders walking the streets than there are in prison in every nation on Earth. It may be a good idea to make a video explaining what not to wear and how not to act to supplement this video. Thank you Shea.
I really don't get the part "To Look Expensive" ....!? Maybe if ud said how to look pretty n neat or sexy or whatever.... What is it that u r trying to impose...? Well I tell ya then I hate wearing anything that has big logo exposing the brand I'm wearing n the last thing I'd want ppl to recognise is I have money n set a distance... I guess u need to calm down n go figure how to be an empath maybe ud be more useful....
My skin is dull with neutrals. i can wear only tree colours: yellow, scuba blue (light) and medium green ( cianer version). For some people is difficult even buy the shampoo and other thing like that and to have a good hairdryer makes difference and a correct shampoo too. To look more "expensive" we have to mantain ourself first with primary thing, but some of us dont have neather that :(
I love this edgy look! I was so excited that her hair, even as short as it is now, was still able to be put into the fun and trendy dutch pigtail braids! Instead of braiding to the ends, I ended them in close together pigtails at the nape of her neck. After I finished braiding, I tugged on the outsides of the braid gently to loosen them and make them a little messy and fun! Since she doesn’t have enough hair to tie around the elastics, I made sure to use elastics that matched her hair so they blend in as much as possible. You could also cover them with clips or bows! A view from the back of her Dutch pigtail braids! A great braid for short hair is a micro accent braid! My biggest tip for braiding short hair would be to add in small slices of hair rather than big ones. I did a small (micro) braid along a slightly curved deep part for anther cute and edgy look! You could also do another one next to it if you wanted a little more to the look, but I really liked how simple this one was. You can see how the part curves a little better from this view of the back. I ended the braid close to the head with an elastic that matched her hair. For our fourth style, we did a 3/4 french braid! Super simple but also super cute! You could do any type braid! It would also look cute using a Dutch braid or a fishtail braid! I loved the side view of this braid! I will for sure be doing this one next time she goes to gymnastics or swimming, whichever comes first! Our last braid is two four dutch lace braids into two loops in the back. Start off by parting the hair down the middle. On each side of the part, do a dutch lace braid, adding hair in from only the section closest to the part as you braid. Tie the braids together in the back with a small elastic and before you pull the hair all the way through to make a ponytail, leave it in a cute little loop! If the hair is a little bit longer, you could do a tiny bun. Repeat this directly under the braid you just did so you have two rows and two loops.
We will have to be coming up with lots more short hair braids in the future, so be sure to give us a follow over at our newly redesigned blog Abella’s Braids to see more as we do them!
Thanks for reading! See you again this time next month!
love these ideas! My daughter recently cut about 8 inches off her hair and is loving her shorter hair, but I’ve mostly been at a loss of what to do with it! Thanks!
Abella has been begging me for at least a year, probably closer to two years, to cut her hair. I posted a photo on Instagram with a question in the caption. “Abella has been begging me to cut her hair short, do you think I should let her do it?” Almost everyone said “YES!” So thanks to all of the good advice from my followers, we did it…and we haven’t regretted it for a second! I think she looks so cute and it really fits her personality! It’s for sure a lot harder to come up with braids but it’s pushed me to step out of my comfort zone! We wanted to show you that even if you have short hair, there are lots of cute braids you can still do!
This first braid (above) is three ladder braids. Start out with a part deep to one side. On the side with less hair, start out by doing a waterfall braid along the part. Under that one, do another waterfall braid, but incorporate the waterfall pieces from the one above it as you braid. Under that one, do a french braid. Incorporate the waterfall pieces from the second braid as you go. We braided each one to the ends and used elastics that matched her hair to tie them off.
