With a welder like that I’d build a pretty sizable, heavy car hauling trailer.

Hey. I am wondering what respirator hood set up you show when you start. Looks like a nice setup. I didn't see it listed in the description or comments. Thanks man. Nice video.

i have a 170 flux core welder from harbor freight and i think i m going to do a 5X10 trailer...do you think the welder is up to the task because im a very inexperienced welder ...im more of an electro mechanical automotive nut

for wiring routing install a pipe large enough to run the wiring through. I used copper tubing. Trust me at some point you will snag the wiring pulling trailer.
krazziee2000 (13 days ago)
I did the same thing with a camper trailer,,, I wish I had watched this first , some of you designs are cool and I wish I had done it that way,, oh well, metal .. I can change it .. thanks for the video..
tjlovesrachel (13 days ago)
Seems that when you turned up the welder to cut with it .... you were just turning up the wire speed.... the amp/voltage control was already maxed out
tjlovesrachel (13 days ago)
DEBOSS GARAGE you must be joking right ... you get my point I hope ... you did nothing to the heat... you just touched the wire speed
DEBOSS GARAGE (13 days ago)
Pretty amazing welder to turn up the wire speed on the stick!

Awesome video, I dislike you not using your grinder guard but that's none of my business. Edit: I see you started using a guard. nice. :)
Every build starts with Tims......

Nice build out I do a fair amount of camping in private campgrounds in the US and ive noticed a lot of old pop ups in their long term storage that look like they are abandoned by the owners usually the tags are expired and they are pushed into the back of the lots i like vintage campers so i almost always look in the storage lots generally in the back of a campground property i specifically look for older Airstreams

Would love to have a welder
G Curley (22 days ago)
Great Job and I did the same myself to haul stuffs with my Neon LOL. If it were only 50x100 inside the rails it would be perfect for drywall and stock lumber
dalesworld (23 days ago)
Nice flexibility with that ramp. Only aspect missing was making them work like barn doors too.

Tent trailer frames are awesome for light duty trailers. We always scrounge them for using behind the quads or the side by side. Hell, they even come with a suspension to soak up the bumps.

John Holmes (2 months ago)
New subscriber here. I really enjoy your videos but I'm curious, how do you get so dirty?
Timothy Stadlmueller (2 months ago)
Have you worked in a garage or construction? All that dirt and grease literally embeds into your callouses, and you usually sweat a lot, so dirt in the air sticks to you.
beastm0de7 (2 months ago)
I would not recommend grinding shit down with a cutting disk, It is not meant to be grinded with, It is meant to be cut with, It is way too thin for pressure to be put on the sides if you try to grind with it or you don't cut straight and you put tension on the sides of that disk and it cracks, it will break apart and go flying at your face.
SimonTek (2 months ago)
Wow, I think I have that exact same trailer.
Chris Kellokoski (2 months ago)
Hey Deboss, where did you get that voice recorder on your tape measure? I think that's engenious!
Daniel Krogh (2 months ago)
gonna be a wobly trailer look at the strength of the outside corners just a thin weld to hold it together bet that shit is gonna break in a couple of years
ThatOneGuy8199 (2 months ago)
don't grind with cutting wheels unless you want it breaking and flinging into your face
Steven Aas (2 months ago)
Great video as usual. I would love to start welding. I just have to scraped enough cash together to buy a welder yet.

I often thought about building a own trailer like your's because it perfectly fits your needs. But i Live in Germany an every vehicle has to go to a check called "TÜV" every two years, and especially own build things hardly pass it the first time. Your trailer would be rejected the first time they see it :D Also the problem is own build trailers are more heavy. In Germany you are only allowed to pull 750kg otherwise the trailer needs own breakes, handbreak, breakaway cable, not too old wheels, wheel chock and a few things more. Also you will not get a 100km/h approval, becaus you must have independent axle with seperate damper [not flat springs] and ideally a anti-snacking coupling caus when you have a 100km/h approval you usually drive 120km/h [otherwise the other cars, which usualle drive between 160 and 250km/h on the middleline will urge you while you're overtakeing a truck ;) ] But really nice project and sorry for my bad english :|

Sick plasma cutter bro.
Cherokeeman (2 months ago)
Cheap trailer build? Sure, if you already have a trailer, light kit, angle iron, lumber, metal shipping crate, a welder, and a fabrication shop.
213gixxer (2 months ago)
Can I have one please
Brandy Brown (2 months ago)
Did i miss the welder give away? If not then i would like to win it. I own and operate a lawncare in Pennsylvania. I work from sun up until sun down all day everyday rain, sun, sleet or snow we dont stop. Breakdowns are expensive to have fixed by a professional welder, i grew up around welding but took a different route so i have some knowledge to it. This give away would be perfect for the up-keep of my equipment, truck and trailer. I would buy one but by the time the bills are paid we have just enough to live on. If i could win this welder that would be great! Thank you, P.s I subbed to you.

Dear kids, When using a grinder always use the guard. Sincerely, Someone who watched a guy have his face destroyed by an exploded wheel
tjlovesrachel (13 days ago)
MikeyMilsap I get your point... but... that guard usually gets in the way of everything ... don’t grind with your cutting disks... don’t slam your cutting/grinding disks around... and wear eye protection... and you should be fine..

Dammit. I looked in to the weld light. Lmao.
joe woodchuck (2 months ago)
Its a nice build but you need a lot of used coponents and supplies to make it worthwhile. A new dexter axle, springs, wheels, and lights alone will set you back several hundred dollars new. Thats about what you can buy this whole trailer new off the lot for.
Eric Crosco (2 months ago)
Great video!I'm in the process of building a 6×8.Really like the ventalation on your welding shield I need one!.
the upscriber (2 months ago)
Idk why people.worry about welding galvanized. It's just fumes. Asbestos dust is also odorless/tasteless and doesn't hurt anything to inhale. At least not for a long time.
